It was a bad day for the cobbler,
In the night he'd had a robbler,
And now all his clogs were popped.
🚨DISASTER BRITAIN! 🚨
TODAY is the last day to get 40% off select books on privatisation, securitisation, neoliberalism and decay.

Big news from Unite union which has voted to cut its Labour affiliation by 40% (£580k a year)
Sharon Graham not mincing her words
"Unite members are coming to the end of the line as far Labour is concerned… whose side are Labour on, who do they really represent, because it certainly isn’t workers"
today
they killed children
but this is not the headline
they turned their school to rubble
their families into ghosts
but this is not the news
today
it rained missiles
vaporised both innocent and guilty
turned a maths lesson into chemistry
their families into ghouls
but this is not so important
It was a privilege to be in the chamber earlier to witness this incredibly powerful and effective speech from Charlotte Nichols.
A plaque has been unveiled at the Town Hall commemorating the Sheffield Tree Campaign.
“In recognition of the courageous campaigners who saved thousands of street trees from wrongful felling by Sheffeld City Council, and as a reminder to all that such failures in leadership must never happen again”
A little reported fact is that the Iranian frigate destroyed 2000 miles from the combat zone was carrying ZERO AMMUNITION (a condition of the exercise it was invited to participate in).
The ship was, by any definition, defenceless.
Much like the 80+ sailors left to drown.
Infamy.
I have personally seen the applications of many Afghani students to our gender studies programme: people who have started grassroots LGBT orgs; who have fought for women's education; who want to come to the UK to study to make their country & the world better...

Legalising and regulating drugs is about reducing the harm and deaths caused by drug use, and treating addicts rather than criminalsing them. It is appalling that Labour and Reform are playing politics with people's lives.

If ever you needed a front page to capture the crass yet also dangerous silliness of so much of our media, and the impact of right wing nationalism which has done so much harm through a history from which some seem so unable to learn
I decided to vote Green as soon as Andy B was blocked as there was no redeeming quality left. The Greens largely ran on a cost-of-living, NHS, public services ticket, the ground Labour have vacated. The sh*t posted through my door daily by Labour and Reform was disgusting. So glad it's all over.
Dear @lucympowell.bsky.social,
I have enjoyed our exchange of letters about which of our parties is best placed to stop Reform. Hannah Spencer MP and I trust that you agree that this question has now been resolved once and for all.
Thanks,
Zack Polanski
So, any other news yesterday?
Anything important?
Hannah Spencer walking into Westminster, sucking her teeth, tutting, and muttering "tell you what, you've had some cowboys in here."

Remember Yachtgate - the original Mandelson scandal?
In 2008, he was caught on an oligarch's boat in Corfu. The Epstein files now reveal the full picture: a web of Russian money, paedophile kompromat and New Labour access that shaped a decade of British politics

Telling me the Greens are like Reform won’t make me think that the Greens are like Reform, it’ll make me think you’re desperate. And morons.
This is entirely correct.
It is *also* true of Labour's earned settlement proposals -which while not as extreme/overtly racist as Reform's, would still have precisely this effect for hundreds of thousands of people
Not too late for government to change course

The civil rights leader and US presidential hopeful 'died peacefully' on Tuesday, his family said.
This thread is the we are going to win thread, is the kids are alright thread, is the STOP ICE thread, is the civil society rising thread; read it through.
The US administration’s insanity on vaccines continues to have ramifications across the world – it is not that America will miss out on these potential new vaccines. It is that they simply won’t happen at all. (Or at least they’ll be indefinitely delayed.)
