Sadiq Khan was straight out praising this victory 👏 But the new Mayor of New York doesn’t fit the Glasman / McSweeney Blue Labour mould, given they’ve spent the last 6 years expunging such folk from the party. Labour are lost and rudderless as a result. It won’t improve without a radical reboot.

Balanced by high public spending and investment in public services and the welfare state. It started to go wrong when Callaghan switched to neoliberalism, laying the foundations for Thatcher. Taxing wealth is more about equality and redistribution of power, than raising money for ‘spending.’

If Labour are willing to bin their manifesto pledges on tax rises, why not on Brexit?
