If they are hiring at a higher rate than you make, your company spends a lot more money on on-boarding and training your replacement (with a drop-off in productivity during the training period) than they would on giving you a market adjustment. It's in their best interest to pay you more.
Lots of companies will pull this and you can and absolutely should use that information to renegotiate your salary, even if you plan on leaving soon. I once got my entire department market adjustments because our new hire was making $28k more than all of us as we trained her.
