I'm in the market for a replacement supergun what's the model you're using there?
Nice little project for anyone wanting a test pattern generator for a CRT.
youtu.be/3SnMIgDPPOU?...
A new work space, a new beginning, a new project.
Four LONG! months without touching a soldering iron.
What's on the bench?
Could help myself whilst away and picked up a couple of resto projects for when the new workspace is complete.
ZX Spectrum £5 at the boot fair and Tri-ang engine from the local market £10.
I think I did well.
Listening to BBC Radio 2 on the restored 1956 Ferguson this morning. Amazed when I first powered this up to test all 5 valves were in perfect working order. Main caps okay only replaced the small value original wax caps. Lovely sound... 🎶
Digital radio 🥱
Looking forward to seeing some neglected cabinets being restored in the new space.
What a hands on team effort from you all. 💪
Saturday mornings just won't be the same...
Thank you Neil. 💪
Restore of this Golden Tee trackball. I couldn't help thinking about where this machine was installed and the DNA samples left on it/in it... It had a strong nicotine ombiance to it. All clean now and ready to be paired with the repaired Golden Tee arcade PCB for a round or two.
Behold my teen boom box. The Sharp GF-A3 with detachable speakers. Repurchased and the broken tape drive is repaired. It has a lovely sound and is perfect for playing my old cassettes (yes, I still have them!) in the work space. 🎶
Tape drive service of a very special to me object.
Broken leaf switch, solidified grease and aged drive belts all need attention before MJ can sing again...
Combat Lynx, one of the first games I had on the Amstrad CPC464.
Absolutely loved it and recently re-purchased it in the clamshell case for my collection. 👍
Xbox One controller repaired.
Won't power on?
Shorted capacitor C33 on the power board.
Also 3d printed a new battery cover lost by the YOUTH!
Yet another pair of Sony headphones repaired! 👍
This time ULT's with a broken swivel mount.
It appears this is actually an active recall/repair extended until 2027. I got the part from Alixpress. Damn fiddly to disassemble, the headband wire needs desoldering/soldering but only 13 tiny wires. 😖
If you try blender it sounds like you need to be looking at the boolean modifier.
Happy to model something for you if you just don't want the hassle.

blender is open source and free but I wouldn't say it's easy for a noob to get started although there are a lot of good specific YouTube guides to simple modelling. I use it all the time for making 3d print models.
As the kids have grown older my photo reel tends to contain more interesting pics as shown in this recent collage made by Google photos.
😂
Brings back such nostalgia on the CPC464. 👍
On a bit of a good run with arcade PCB repairs lately:
Golden Tee Supreme Edition
Mexico 86
NEOGEO MV1B
Double Dragon 3
🚑🏥🌡️💉🪛💪
One day I'll have an arcade cabinet built for the growing collection...

Who has the non job of thinking that people really need that kind of training???

Tokio Formation Scramble
Bootleg PCB
I do believe that somewhere in this coloured soup is a running game.
Touching an output pin on a 74LS257 on the gfx board with the o'scope is bringing it out of black screen to this state.
In the right area so nearly there.
Sync signal is good.
Tokio Formation Scramble
Bootleg PCB
Finally getting somewhere
Filter caps
1 x corrupt gfx ROM
2 x dead Z80 main CPU & Sub
1 x 74LS139
Nice work. I know you've also done the AES board, I have one to build. Any plans to do something like the MV1FZ board???
Cleaned up nice. 👍
Finished the Konami Jail Break adapter. All working great, a nice little game. The speech effects are impressive for a 1986 game.
Cleaned the PCB and added new 3D printed feet. Nice to have a no repair required PCB for a change.
What's next off the PCB shelf?
