...after reading The Count of Monte Cristo and watching the movie (2002 release)... i can't help but wonder if i were to read books... and then write them into screenplays... 🤔 ...could they be purchased/adapted... or... i also know quite a few LARPers... i wonder if we could do indie productions

Was thinking: "Fantasy" as a genre has been around for a long time... but it has mostly been grouped in with Sci-Fi... it seems, as though, to have come into its own, rather recently... and i can't help but wonder if, maybe, it's a good thing i have not yet been published...

Been writing more again. This being mid-July, i don't KNOW that I'll be able to achieve my goal of finishing a 1st draft this year... but i sure as hell am still gonna try ❤️

Wrote from 9:20 to 10:20. A total of 114 words. My hand is freezing up. I took an NSAID, tried icing it, and tried heat... but it hurts. I hope to attempt more writing later. Will be starting to update daily with word count... and, perhaps, anywhere from a sentence to a paragraph i enjoyed writing 😊

My Child inspired me: they enjoy horror novels... and they LOVE Greek myth (they've read Percy Jackson SO many times, and they have 3 different publications of the books 😆)
... which makes me want to write a series of Greek myths as Horror stories! It really shouldn't be that difficult 😆

I mean, the overall plot is still the same... but now it has a whole different FEEL!

Ok. Set a relatively ambitious goal to write 150W/H... so, if I'm writing for 2 hours, i should have 300 words out. I think this is achievable...
Friday i managed 72W/H
Saturday i was sitting pretty at 172W/H
Today I'm trailing a bit at 132...

... was gonna try to write 8 hours a day as though i was at work (at least while I'm in recovery)... but i can barely write for 2 (2.5 yesterday, 1 today)...
I seriously slept for over 12 hours today..
... I'm disappointed in myself...

... not sure about the punctuation... but the idea that a floorboard is "too tired" to creak tickles me 😆

OMG, y'all! I just found an original file on my old thumb drive that dates my Epic Fantasy "The Seer" back in 2003! Didn't realize I'd been working on it THAT long 😆

My goal is to start small(ish): first draft of first book.
And the sentiment of things changing before I'm ready to publish WAS, actually, on my mind

One of my goals this year is to finish a first draft. My question is: which one?
Epic Fantasy (3+ books. Concern: writing skill/political climate)
High Fantasy (# of books unknown. Concern: will be overlooked and brushed aside with current trends)
Horror (concern: not as fleshed out as other two)

Shower thoughts just the other day: i wonder if it might make sense to have 1 branch be all democrats and the other all republican, but still have a "bill must pass with a 70/30? approval rate"

... what is it that makes a novel worth reading? There are so many books out in the world, and so many that still live rent-free inside our heads... why, then, do some become popular enough to merit movies and TV shows, while others sit at the book store gathering dust?

... having a medical procedure done at the end of the month that I'm pretty anxious about... it's gonna have me out of work for 6 weeks or more...
