*his eyes light up at the offering of pineapple and he crunches on the slice happily*

*watching envy shake the little knight toy and giggle, gets him more excited and he starts digging through the other toys and trinkets looking for other interesting things to play with.. *

*assan lays on the ground nearby and watches the little halla slowly spinning around to the music, captivated by it.

he occasionally tries to nip at the bubbles that float out of the music box past his head*

*he's surprised when the box opens up and the toys spill out but gets very excited at the idea of playing with envy.. he picks up another toy soldier and shakes it around playfully, trying to "kill" it.*

assan squawks affirmatively and picks up the wooden box in his beak, ready to find someone to help.

he takes a few steps but the box accidentally slips from his beak and falls to the ground again. a lid unlatches on impact and it falls open...

*he tips his head to the side inquisitively and sniffs it too. not food. he squawks a little sadly at that and sighs.

he nudges the wooden box again and it makes a sudden clicking sound as if some hidden mechanism has just unlocked.*

*assan squawks in surprise at the little halla and tries to catch some of the bubbles with his beak, snapping at them as the float by.

then the little musicbox begins to chime a simple tune that sounds hauntingly familiar as the tiny halla spins. it's an old dalish lullaby*

*he stops digging for a second and boops envy with his beak in greeting with a happy squawk. he then continues to dig until his claws scrape against a hard wooden object. he reaches in and pulls the object out of the dirt with his beak and drops it on the ground with a heavy wooden thunk.*

*he startles back, surprised but then his curiosity gets the better of him and he creeps up to the box and nudges it again.
It glows brighter with his touch, blue light spilling through the fine lines as it begins to expand and change shape... not unlike a flower opening up.*

the box begins to hum gently and glow with a dim blue light*

*he reaches down and clamps his beak around the object and pulls it free from the dirt and drops it with a hollow metallic clunk on the ground.
it's a smooth silver box covered in fine lines but otherwise unremarkable.* 👀

*digs harder and then stops when his claws scrape against something metallic. he tilts his head to the side in curiosity and carries on digging up what the object it.*

*he perks up an ear when asked the question but of course, he doesn't really understand what's being asked... so he just continues to purr and sighs contentedly*

*finishes up his watermelon and then lays down next to cole and lays his head in his lap, purring*
