& is. To this day, "Sweet Architect" amazes me.
This album got me through 2016 & 2017. Love it so much

No interruptions, please. We’re building universal child care.
I can't wait until my mouth heals. I hate not being able to chew right.
Just a reminder: This is a generative A.I. hate account.

Trans rights are human rights and if one of is ain’t free then none of us are.

(I'll prolly delete that before the night is over, but something about releasing it makes me feel better about my life now.)
My folks separated, pops moved out & 3 days later, 9/11 happened, all in the week before I turned 9. & only last year, 3 days before my Jesus year, I found out we were nearly a feature on one of those family jet ski pictures they show on news features back then, which led to the separation 🫠
The classic PBS children’s show Reading Rainbow is officially back, with the series securing a 24-episode pickup.

Been there recently. One day at a time 💛
i'm tired of having to fight white people for them to see us as human and deserving of respect and dignity.
& before you start, as someone that has grown up with generations-long lineages of specifically working with (& being folks with) varying ranges of mental, genetic, physiological & developmental disabilities, please understand I’m telling you we’re tired of the posturing & positioning around it.
The likelihood of a Black person with Tourette’s, one that experiences the simultaneous brunt of medical & ableist racism, being allowed to exist with such a hollow apology issued on their behalf if such BAFTA situations were reversed, is primarily why Black folks are tired.
Anyway, Mutha Toni Morrison already covered this.
“The function, the very serious function of racism is distraction. It keeps you from doing your work. It keeps you explaining, over and over again, your reason for being... None of this is necessary. There will always be one more thing.”
But, o whale, we’re told. Tale as old as time, my people say.
Ain’t but so many ways you can live as a Black person & have enough anecdotes & experiences of racism & still come across so many non-Black folks that can define what it is against your lived knowledge but then not being able to identify a single racist or example in the wild.
The interactions & expectations of non-Black people regarding the reception, cast & crew of SINNERS mimicking the actual plot is more & more why the film resonates beyond what so many have deemed as “heavy-handed.” Once again, antiBlackness being both the knee-jerk & mirror, Coogler is a prophet.
Can we count Yona Harvey for Black Panther & the Crew???

Home after a very frustrating day spent between two hospitals but hopefully set with new insight about some of my chronic concerns.
Didn’t realize that I hadn’t shared these here, but I made my acting debut in the Ensemble of a local production of Tarell Alvin McCraney’s Choir Boy last fall. We won Best Play of our theatre’s productions last year & I got to assist with costuming designing our school crest for Charles Drew Prep ✨

y’all should embrace capturing good times with your people. yes, be in the moment. but one day, all you’ll have are memories, pictures, or videos.
and there is a unique pain in realizing you have no new pictures to share with friends or family. no new memories to be made. and it hurts.
