Mercedes logged 151 laps today, which was just over 700km of mileage. By comparison, in 2014, they only did 18 laps.

Red Bull has been close-knit on images of the RB22, although some appear to show a sidepod concept similar to Mercedes in 2022.

No milage figures, but Ayao Komatsu said: "I’m happy with how we’ve started this week. We all have a huge challenge ahead of us, but you’ll see a lot of evolution through testing." #F1

Alpine completed 60 laps (28 in AM and 42 in PM) with Colapinto, which is 279km of milage in Barcelona.

Steve Nielsen: "We have two more days in the car, which we'll decide based off a number of factors including weather and the conditions." Rain is forecast for the next three days. #F1

Audi has released a few more studio images of the actual R26 that ran in testing today.

Bortoleto to F1 TV: "We found a couple of problems that put us out for the day from the morning, so I didn't run much, but it was expected. When we were running, it was positive." #F1

Bottas speaking to F1 TV after driving the Cadillac at Barcelona today: "It was cold. Early morning, it's quite hard to get the tyres working. We had some issues throughout the day, but it's about debugging. That's why we are here, and it seems like every team had some issues." #F1

Audi has announced rising British star Freddie Slater as their first signing of it's Driver Development Programme. Slater will race in F3 this year, after a successful 2025 in Formula Regional European Championship. #F1

Ferrari has given us a first look at how the active aero will work on the cars. Hamilton activated the system while driving the SF-26 at Maranello earlier.

Ferrari SF-26 steering wheel features a slightly tweaked profile compared to the SF-25. The top is no longer a smooth curve.

It looks like Ferrari has made a couple of tweaks to their steering wheel for 2026. Way more simplified and probably a few grams taken off to save weight. #F1

Audi has announced the formation of its own Driver Development programme headed by Former F1 driver and three-time Le Mans winner Allan McNish.

McNish: "Our goal is to build a pathway that turns potential into precision and performance on the world stage." #F1

This brings Fallows back into the Red Bull fold after he left in 2021 to join Aston Martin. That lasted until Adrian Newey took over the technical leadership, and Fallows left last year. #F1

Racing Bulls has announced Dan Fallows has joined their team as technical director. He will report to chief technical officer Tom Goss. #F1

Quite possibly the best thing about it was the cinematography and tech behind it. Telling that none of the actors were nominated. Not that they were bad, but the story was terrible and will likely lead to it losing out on Best Picture. Hopefully Zimmer adds another Oscar to his collection for sound.

It does seem itself as a platform, which in itself is a problem. The cars are a different homologation to Regional F4 (to fit aesthetics) and the tracks are not suitable because they struggle to promote overtaking. This makes spotting talent who can progress through the ladder difficult to spot.
