I have an old welsh long house that I've wanted for ages to hire a dendochronologist to date, I think it's fascinating. We know the house is at least 300 yrs old but am sure it has older origins. One of the timbers is burnt and am intrigued to know if it was rebuilt or if it came from elsewhere.

I've heard both versions but learned it as:
Goering has two, but rather small
Himmler is somewhat simmlar,
And Goebbels has no balls at all

They've also never had chronic period pains, endometriosis, adenomyosis or any gynae conditions, arthritis, gout, sciatica, back pain or any other inflammatory condition. Or toothache or teething pains for that matter.

Interesting thought, but they're now owned by US venture capital. Pfizer, a US co manufactures Advil (biggest brand globally) in the US but is only part owned by GlaxoSmithKline, which is British. I still think nobbling painkillers companies does the US no favours. The $ and jobs are in the US

I really don't get what the end game is here.
Surely reducing painkiller use affects US pharma industry while rest of world continues to take and sell painkillers? Did they not pay their bribes? A population in pain reduces productivity
Citizens in pain can't fight their govt? Is that it?

Me too - adenomyosis absolutely sucks and took several days of my month from me, every month. Without ibuprofen I would have never got through it.

I don't remember everything I was taught and had to learn through school, but I did learn to think critically and be academically resourceful, skills people will need even more when their prime source is the internet.

This has been my kids' experience - my youngest, now about to take A levels says this all the time "no I can't say that/bother with that/read that, it's not what we've been learning" I find it very hard to accept and they're increasingly distressed by it as memorising, is not easy for them.

My dad's birthday is in November so my sis in law bought it for his birthday last year - it was gorgeous - and the little tiny jars! So sweet

Bookies manager of 6 years here.
- They do not support mental health, they enable problem gamblers. β€œResponsible gambling” is a myth.
- They moved gambling addiction to being a healthcare problem in 2022
- Penny machines? Not the same, not even close.
- Completely agreed on Point 4.

The CURRENT sitting MP for Clacton earns Β£511,000 as a presenter for GB News and took Β£281,000 as a brand ambassador for Direct Bullion.

So maybe sit this one out, you rancid herring.

Yet again, it's down to a real journalist, @monkemma.bsky.social to debunk this culture war codswallop.
It blows my mind too that people believe this rubbish. It takes hardly any time to verify that Christmas actually looks rather fun in Sheffield this year

I think @vcorenmitchell.bsky.social 's response is so well put but way more considerate than Linehan deserves. It's sad to lose a former friend and watch them implode but actually he is harassing her and many other women. He should really be served with an injunction or be reported to police.

Seriously, out of all those millions of people, they could find one of the 'little people' to big up and make them think they care about their good deeds?

Good. However, taken in isolation, each of these posts could read that
"The Labour party.."
Does all of these things.
Looks like a bit of an own goal to me?

It was meant half in jest. However there is a serious point. They're not registered as a political party, thus releasing them from various regulations affecting other parties, for example their choice of leader. Reform is set up to ensure he can remain in post for as long as he and Tice choose.

03.11.2025 13:07 β€” πŸ‘ 11    πŸ” 2    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

He founded Reform as a company, not a party - could there be anything more professional politician than that?

Because it costs money and before Trump's heartless government there was no need. Working makes it difficult to get time off to go to meetings, she was bringing up her children, all sorts of reasons it's difficult and if you have right to be there why would you? Until this crap starts.

These aren't that bad. Just need substantial work to make them nice - property round here is all about profit, estate agents let builders know before others get to view properties - guaranteed sale commission..

Where I live it's pretty difficult to find a fixer upper that hasn't already been sold direct to a builder/developer so they can fix it up and sell their concept of a dream home for Β£250K more than they bought it.
