It's a win-win. The advice giver becomes worth listening to. The advice taker actually benefits.

And سُبْحَانَ ٱللّٰه, this is where I see Allah's mercy in Surah Al-Baqarah 2:44. From my understanding, He's not forcing us to accept advice from hypocrites. He's telling the advice givers: Work on yourself first.
