Whatever your view on this, there’s no denying that by leaning on the NEC to block his bid to run, Starmer has made himself look weak and has made Andy Burnham a martyr.

My view?

Andy Burnham was our only hope. I fully backed him standing. The only reason he was needed is because of KS’s disastrous refusal to divert from McSweeney and Glasman’s “Blue Labour” bullshit.

In an ideal world, Burnham would be PM and Starmer would be Foreign Secretary.

Blocking Andy Burnham from standing is not putting the country before the party. It’s not even the best decision for the party. Starmer is ultimately prioritising his job. A job he is doing badly. Which will result in Britain falling to the far right.

Absolutely unforgivable.

They need leadership that prioritises Reithian values over fears of headlines & intimidation in right-wing newspapers. Enemies of truth should be enemies of the BBC. Not contributors to be ‘balanced’ out by evidence & expertise. The timorousness of historic climate change coverage has spread.

All regime mouthpieces who have lied about the murder of VA nurse Alex Pretti must resign immediately. All DHS officials and agents involved must be prosecuted.
