Former exiled Northern Monkey, now exiled no more. Normally rambling on about music, old telly, LFC and cricket. Liable to post pictures of records . Mostly harmless.

A worthy #1. I loved With You from Here and Tired Of Being Alone off the last record too. Raymond always goes under the radar.

I only chose it as I thought the artwork looked better in black - didn’t know there was a difference in packaging

In the build up to our Edgar Jones release we will be streaming a few tracks that didn't make the vinyl.

Loved this album. Saw them on a co-headline with the Magic Numbers round about then. My Eyes Are Sore is a beauty

RIP Brian Patten. We read Gargling Eith Jelly at school; loved this later. Saw him reading once, at Crosby Civic Hall with McGough; a great memory.

Not sure I would have called this as #1 in advance, but it’s a special song, final part of a stunning closing trio on a great album, so maybe it was always going to be…

3 in my #REMTop30 .
An unlikely hit single: no real chorus, written on the mandolin, and from their 7th album. Not sure something like that could happen these days…

If I ever formed a band, which given my lack of talent is extremely unlikely, I might go for the Rivers Of Suggestion as a band name..,

Dickie Bird's magnificent knock has come to an end. He was so good. And so eccentric. He is completely synonymous with English cricket in the 70s, 80s and 90s. Can't think of another official, in any sport, who was genuinely as famous as the players. Raise your bat, Dickie.

A reminder of those childhood Summers, cricket on terrestrial telly, Richie and co on commentary, always seemed to be either Dickie or David Shepherd or both) umpiring.

Richie always used to call him Harold rather than Dickie, so when I was young I thought they were twins πŸ˜‚

RIP
