Yes & no (but mostly yes). Druids will still play there but the process of gutting the club has long since taken place. Owner bought Druids, got in over his head, managed decline of club, picked off other board members, made rent deal with WFC (with this sale in mind?), now asset sold, money to him.

Gresford seem to be at ease at Airbus, and in fairness it’s about the same distance from there as Druids. Cefn Albion are back in the village too so there isn’t much to kick off at unless it’s those of us with long memories!

I know what it means but haven’t researched why! Will do now though.

This was his end game all along I assume. It leaves a sour taste and what they had at Druids is gone forever. If there was anyone left to stick up for them like administrators did for Wrexham it would be interesting legally but I suppose this is just how it is now.

A curate's egg. It is almost certainly the only practical way forward, and one which the club will make work for the women's team. It is also the club taking advantage of an asset strip, which will always sting when considering #wxmafc history - park any complaints you used to have about TNS.

A response to those things has been a mixed bag. Lucas Oil sponsorship was quickly shelved but the partnership with Des at the Rock has never been addressed. This company could do with keeping its head down, as I suspect too much dirt could get it sidelined (eg RR blocking a podcast after recording)

If it’s anything like my experience of a woke free workplace in the old days it’ll be pretty bleak for anyone who doesn’t like a never ending stream of off colour “banter”. Worst of all he’ll be loving the attention in an “owning the libs” style.

Presumably his Woke Free Zone flag still flies. I’d like to see him truly pressed on just what this means for the atmosphere in his workplace.

An afternoon that began with two teams struggling to get any shots off, but finished with both teams a man light and the losing team’s goalkeeper doing the “come on then” gesture to the winning team’s right back. The magic of the FA Cup!

I was never a clubber, but my last time in one was an especially drunken one where the only thing I remember was an odd moment of clarity thinking “everyone in here is younger than me”. I was 27. I went to a gig with my much younger brother in law later where I should’ve hidden in the bogs all night

Update: this person & their friend did get into the game. This person can’t help themselves; they are an addict, a word not used lightly or inaccurately. But if Fleur was still around they would be banned within days, they probably would deserve it for refusal to follow instructions #wxmafc

This video, which backs up what you hear people from local clubs say, suggests the success of WFC makes it harder for local football from a number of angles. When Druids (pre-takeover) were doing well there was a sense that they used it but that hasn’t been repeated lately.

Telling too that when people discuss independence for Wales the football answer is "there are cross border leagues out there" (there aren't many) rather than "we should be able to manage it ourselves". There's a lot of pressure on TNS too but there is no essential reason why they should have won.

The problem here is that the discussion is only able to tinker at the edges when there is one single way out of the funk - the one thing that will not happen, all Welsh teams in the league. Summer football won't change Penybont playing a team whose budget was 30 times higher than theirs.

A bit more blah on this page now the games are happening. Why griping about women’s football is like Wrexham before the money came in, plus tales of Cefn Albion coming home and Gresford’s purgatory away from theirs.

Again, I don't know who needs to see this but "check out what this nasty person you left Twitter to avoid has said on Twitter" could do without screenshots. I feel your pain, you want to shoot them down, you want to vent about them, but if you won't do it there I don't see what is to be gained here.

Worth pointing this out if they come your way. They achieved the impossible in Wrexham in that every single mention of them on a local FB group was a positive one! A rare bird indeed.
