There was one NYC HS I felt my son might do well in, and I just found out their special education leader left last year and the school's become awful. The lack of real gifted education in the city has hurt 2E students so much, as schools and teachers expect students to just bootstrap themselves

As a parent of ND kids, I find "progressive" schools are generally poor fits, as they very often don't provide enough executive function support. But these problems seem deeper, and it's clear they are not even following the law regarding IEPs.

Loving all of the parents saying "IDEA is the law", as if funding and support for disabled students is guaranteed. It's only been funded at ~15% (not even the full 40%), but it can always go lower. And the law isn't always the law with Trump.

I mean, legally they are supposed to. But IDEA isn't ever fully funded, and compliance is not very good even in blue states.

And people who will be hurt by 2025 and voted for Trump will still claim it's not really 2025 being implemented even as they are materially harmed.
