for my own safety im going to be prioritising me and my family. ill try post if i can but as of now, that wont be possible. if you guys can, try spread awareness to maybe some friends who might listen, as this is the only way for people in power to listen and see what they are doing.
by the looks of it, it will not die down for another WEEK or so, and so many people are in so much danger. people have been trying to spread awareness of this through instagram and tiktok, but are being silenced by media not publishing content, turning off tiktok live, etc.
the heartless government couldnt care less about what happened. this made the whole country outraged and protests got even more intense. buildings burnt, public transportation being destroyed/ damaged, and 4 people k!lled.
it all went to shit when a male delivery driver, affan kurniawan, was delivering food and fell off his motorcycle in the middle of a protest (he had nowhere else to go) and was stuck by a military veichle (PAID BY TAXES OF INDONESIANS). he wasnt even IN the protest. he was 21.
basically, the government here has raised their allowance to about 50M IDR (about 3k USD), AND their extremely high bonuses that bring their salaries to about 5 miliar (300k USD) A MONTH. YES. A MONTH. this sparked riots throughout the country and protests were obviously gonna happen.
so much shit is happening rn and i am stressed tf out. to everyone possibly wondering why ive been inactive for a bit now, ALOT is happening in indonesia.
