I've built several game systems into Notion, mostly for my own record keeping. It doesn't do dice, but for tracking it is really neat, I can focus on what I need as a GM. It costs ridic monthly fees if I ever wanted to use it in actual play, so for now it's just a fun way to break down game rules.
I only use Roll20 for the Evil Hat games I run with Roll20 support, otherwise I prefer anything else. I tried using the fan-made Foundry mods for MotW & TSL, but they aren't nearly as well designed nor as pretty.
Thank you so much for this in depth look. I assumed similar reasons, but it's nice to have it written out - esp to share with the folks who demand their fave VTT without understanding the cost (in time, experience, or money)

I'm lucky the Satanic Panic mostly missed me. Although I didn't have any of my own books or dice when I played in my teens, so that could be the reason 🤔
My mum had banned Ouija boards as satanic when I was younger, so I might have been hiding my D&D from her and just forget now😆
