I took a big risk. Drove from Colorado. Rain on the day before and the day after. But the day of the eclipse was near perfect at my location.

The total solar eclipse photographed in Indiana, April 8, 2024. This image was taken during totality. The moon completely covers the sun’s disk. Between the 3:00 and 6:00 position, there are sever solar prominences visible.

The image was taken with a Nikon D810 with the 200-500 zoom lens set at 500 mm. f8, 1/1000 sec, ISO 100, 4 stops underexposed.

Whenever I come across a place like this, I often pause to think about the people who lived here ... who they were, their challenges, their joys, their tears. I try to think about the generations of people who passed through this door and who made this into a home. I try to think about what became of them. I try to listen for their voices, but all I hear is the wind.

2. POTUS cannot pardon anyone involved in criminal activity in which POTUS is implicated
