Sorry for the rant btw. A friend of mine shared a fic where a mlm ship was genderbent and the ship was being genuinely pitched as 'good yuri' despite being about 2 men with the names changed and i felt a demon take over

And the fact of the matter is that people need to understand that a personal headcanon is not real representation, and that they need to have a serious think about why they care more about arbitrarily calling mlm ships yuri than they do about actual women both as characters and in the community

None of them ever want to genuinely engage with transfemme or nb readings of the characters either. They just want to go those two men are lesbians because i said so and if you say anything different youre actually a lesbophobe (even if youre a lesbian yourself)
