15.12.2024 23:54 โ ๐ 6 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0โจ Christmas Romance Recommendation โจ
I read Lovelight Farms two years ago and I still think about it all the time. In fact, writing this makes me want to go back and reread it. Especially because I read it so early in my romance reading era that I didnโt even review it!

Ava and Desโs chemistry was off the charts, and I absolutely could not get enough of them.
Tropes:
๐ childhood friends to strangers to lovers
๐ โweโre just teaching each other how to dateโ
๐ secret identity
๐ sick / comfort
๐ meddling friends & family

Get a Life, Chloe Brown is one of my all time favorite contemporary romances.
Is there anything better than a dual-POV enemies to lovers? If you need some spice and โจtensionโจ in your life - highly recommend.

โจ Holiday Recommendation โจ
Amor Actually was my favorite holiday read last year, and I highly recommend it if you havenโt read it yet! There are nine stories in the collection, and it is a reimagining of Love Actually.

New ARCs: โข My Feral Romance โขFlirting with Disaster โขA Tropical Rebels Gets the Duke
A screenshot of my Goodreads 2024 challenge. Iโve read 183 of 100 books.
I went a little rogue this week, because I realized I could possibly meet my stretch goal of reading 200 books this year! So my up next list might look really familiarโฆ๐
Iโve been taking my nonfiction reading slowly and listening to it for 10-20 minutes each day.
โWhat This Weekโ in black text with a light pink background. Cartoon book spines make a border on the bottom.
Just finished: โข The Red Woman and the White Bear โข Every Duke Has His Day โข A Curvy Girl Wonderland โข Fourth Wing (reread)
Currently reading: โข White Tears / Brown Scars โข A Monsoon Rising โข Well Met (reread) โขHow to Find a Princess โขA Rivalry of Hearts
Up Next: โข Quicksilver โข If a Poem Could Live and Breath โข The Prince and the Apocalypse โข All the Painted Stars โข The Duchess Takes It All โขRoyal Holiday
If I read 3/4 of a book every day until the end of the year, Iโll meet my stretch goal of reading 200 books this year! ๐ค๐ป๐ค๐ป
What are you reading?

Some people genuinely are confused about the point of reviews, I fear ๐
03.12.2024 03:58 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0The comments hyping her up ๐ . People are so messy ๐๐
03.12.2024 03:57 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 1 ๐ 0It was a wild week!
02.12.2024 23:41 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0First, is this how you read in your head? Second, is this how you read out loud? Third, has no one ever read a book to you? Fourth, you know that narrators are literally actors, right? Itโs called voice acting. Many also perform on stage and screen. (As a teacher, my fourth grade curriculum literally taught kids strategies so that while they are reading they are imagining the book like a movie in their mind. So this is just all so baffling. Like that is kind of The Point.)
Cyclical dialogue: (11) Trigger Warnings. It is such a privilege to have an opinion about trigger warnings and to not have experience with why people need trigger warnings. Have you had a *literal* panic attack while reading a book? No? Shut up. Trigger warnings are a way for readers to consent with the material in the book. A Trigger = something that triggers someoneโs trauma. Letโs not be cutesy about it. If you donโt like them or need them, skip the page they are on. If youโre an audiobook listener like I am, it is also very easy to skip this section.

5 A reviewer tagged an author in a 1 review, which isnโt cool. As weโve established. BUT THEN - they KEPT reposting and tagging them in the review OVER. And OVER. Again. And like, I donno, we talk about how thereโs a loneliness epidemic but I think some people just donโt talk to other people at all or join communities.
6 There were many reactions to the NYT Best Books that was posted this past week. But a bad one was someone saying that there were *no* authentic queer experiences on the list, when the list included The Pairing by Casey McQuiston, who is non-binary, which is an identity that is part of the trans umbrella, which is part of the queer community.
7 Speaking of people who should familiarize themselves with the book community, specifically the author community, was this lovely take. โAre reviews not for authorsโฆor are reviewers perhaps uncomfortable with delivering constructive criticism.โ (Remember friends: editors and critique partners are for constructive criticism. Reviews are for readers!) 8 Someone on the clock app complained that B&N had a whole shelf of AI books. Only they were Harlequin books, not AI.
9 A bunch of traditionally published historical romance authors announced that their series are being discontinued. I personally love historicals and am really sad about this. People Who Hate Reading and Think Everyone Else Should Too had a lot of opinions this week: (10) Someone said that narrators shouldnโt perform audiobooks and instead read them deadpan so that it is โtechnically readingโ OTHERWISE movies could be considered reading. To which I have So Many Questions.

Dearest Gentle Bookthreader, To my readers in the U.S.: I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving celebration, free from screaming or weirdly judgemental relatives. I felt very fortunate that mine was peaceful and loving! 1 Have you ever thought to yourself, โWow, I wish publishers didnโt take so much time editing books!โ Well, you are in luck! Some bros of Silicon Valley (I assume) are publishing 8,000 books in 2025 using AI! Thank Reading Rainbow for them, really.
They are here to save publishing. Jokes aside - I, for one, am interested in robots doing my dishes, not making art, and intend to have my reading choices give money to human authors and editors! (For the full story, see link in final post)
2 Is your area banning books? Consider breaking the law and becoming a book pirate! That way you can harm authors and in no way fix the problem, except for how it affects you, personally. (THIS IS A JOKE PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS. But someone thought that was a real smart thing to post.)
3 One Indie Author had a tough week after she announced that she was recasting the male narrator for her audiobook. Fans of the original narrator complained so much that the author wanted to quit social media. 4 An author naming a character โNeekarโ was controversial. Many people think that the pronunciation is very close to a slur. Others thought that it came from the authorโs cultural heritage and we shouldnโt judge other languages and names based on our own messed up culture.
Dearest Gentle #Booksky๐๐ ,
Here is this weekโs book drama round up!
