Still no sign of passage at Stanwick this morning but a badger trundling along the shoreline of the main lake was excellent. The mess left by Sundays visitors was staggering. The way people treat the countryside is depressing to say the least

Speeding duck: Switzerland traffic cameras catch flying mallard Police say the mallard was likely a repeat offender and was caught in the same spot seven years ago.

A duck has been caught speeding on traffic cameras in the town of Koeniz in central Switzerland.

Local police said the mallard - a wild duck - was snapped on radar images on 13 April clocking in at 52km (32 miles) in a 30km zone.

there was a roost at Stanwick where the Frontier Camp is. Often 20+ coming in the evening. Common alongside most of the roads around Irthlingborough. An amazing decline really and, as you say, very sad
