I wonder if more mini comics like this are worth doing? I’ve got another WIP of one I’ve had sitting around for a couple months, I’m debating whether to finish it

A digital illustration meant to mimic / be a parody of a vintage issue of Rolling Stone magazine. The title of the fictitious magazine is Roaring Thunder, written in vintage lettering. The magazine in this version of the illustration is wrapped loosely in a cellophane sleeve, and has a price sticker on it. On the left in the foreground is a blonde anthropomorphic lion character with long golden hair, dressed resembling Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin. In the background is a black panther character wielding a black Stratocaster guitar, and her design resembles musician Betty Davis. They are on a stage and stage lights are visible in the background, hazy. There are captions on the magazine describing articles within, which read “The Suet Block: This modest café ain’t for the birds— it’s the hottest music joint in town!” and “Meet S.A.L: Salutations! This actor’s new film is his pride and joy!” Finally, there is a caption at the bottom with the title of the band the characters are in, which reads: “The Den: an un-den-iable display of talent!”

Here’s the magazine still in its wrapper. Keeping these guys fresh, I guess?

Funny and funny lookin'. Not shy, shameless, even. Highly creative, utterly ridiculous. Nuisance. Modifies and designs his own shirts/sweaters. Makes weird art. Likes: traipsing in the woods, charcoal, doing his own thing, tree-sitting. Works part-time at a junk/antique shop. Moved solo from the UK to Ohio." On his ref sheet are some items like his sketch book, camera, music taste, and clove cigarettes.
