On his left shoulder is a tattoo of a fishing hook and waves. The background is a crude depiction of water. I decided that Jyo (pronounced like Joe) should be closer to a seahorse than an elf. His background is still basically the same: Jyo is a former thief/pirate who got involved with a dangerous man who enacted a genocide against the dragon race of their planet. During the chaos, Jyo finds the infant son of the king and queen of dragons, and rescues the child in secret. He leaves the planet with the child in tow, running away to find shelter on Earth so that the now orphaned dragon prince can live a peaceful life without the threat of being murdered simply for being a dragon. That is the premise behind these OCs, and Jyo is a very important character. Per the canon lore, Jyo uses earrings as personal holographic projectors to disguise himself and his new son while living on Earth. His hope was to hide the prince away forever, but one day a familiar person arrives on Earth to end the dragon clan's bloodline once and for all. Will Jyo be able to protect the life he's grown fond of and the son he's learned to love?

The drawing is clearly done by a novice artist, that novice being myself. I was 17 or 18 when I drew this. For this original version, Jyou (still pronounced Joe but with an extra "u" on the end of the name) was a space pirate who gets in with a dangerous man who destroys an entire planet, leaving only the prince of that planet orphaned. Jyou was originally tasked with selling the baby on the black market, but instead flees to Earth so the child can live a normal life. The old plot and the new plot are pretty similar, it's just scaled back from my freewheeling teenage days.
