Even with physical media available, I recall how being limited to whatever was being broadcast live on tv could expose you to different things too. You pick from the handful of things on right now–or don't watch tv. But that Golden Age, sigh, the 1st time I browsed 50s-60s TV Guides my jaw dropped.
