20.11.2025 16:12 โ ๐ 5 ๐ 1 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0Gene Wilder is such a treasure of an actor as Wonka as he sparks a lot of pure imagination in his performance and presence. The song are very memorable and pleasing to the ears, some even becoming iconic in popular culture. The filmmaking here is also just fantastic.
You can find this film on 4K.
In celebration of my #OneYearAnniversary on Bluesky, here is my most personal recommendation yet, one that I would consider my favorite comfort and feel good film of all time. Any time that I feel down, or dare I say even depressed, I can always trust this film to bring my spirits up to full force.

Willy Wonka And The Chocolate Factory (1971).
The film follows a young Charlie Bucket yearning for an opportunity to help his family. That opportunity comes when world famous chocolatier Willy Wonka sends five golden tickets out in the world, winning a visit to his factory.

With a years worth of Monday Movie Recs, over 500 posts and replies, over 100 followers, and meeting all kinds of cool people on here; it has all and all been a really good experience so far.
#OneYearAnniversary
But yeah, this film I remember seeing out of the blue some time ago, and it has stuck with me since with how it presents the Japanese invasion in Shanghai, and for a young Christian Bale giving it his all in this one. That dude was a gem even back then.
You can find this film on Blu-ray and DVD.
Happy #VeteransDay !
Yes, I did wait until right after Monday on purpose to do this recommendation since it felt more appropriate to do it today.
To all of our war veterans and those still on the frontlines, we salute you and thank you for your services. Keep your spirits high even in tough times.
Monday Movie Rec #52:
Empire Of The Sun (1987).
The film is set during World War II as we see a young British boy and his family visit Shanghai, only for the Japanese to invade the city and take people into prison camps. The young boy is put into these camps and utilizes his spirit to keep afloat.
Noice! I bet it looks very cool like always innit.

06.11.2025 07:33 โ ๐ 1 ๐ 0 ๐ฌ 0 ๐ 0I have finally started doing more script writing on a couple of projects that are getting deeper into development.
In due time, I will share what will be in store in the near future.
Funnily enough, these two projects I began working on since the beginning of the year.
Unlike other musician biopics, this film is a lot more sincere in its story and supporting characters, making you feel more for Robbie in his frenetic world. The direction as well is pretty stellar with this highly visual pseudo musical drama presentation.
You can find this film on 4K.
I know this came out within the past 12 months, but this one flew under many people's radars so I thought it would be good to shed some light on it. Although people may remember the trailers featuring the anthro monkey version of Robbie, I think that visual form fits very well within the story.

Better Man (2024).
The film follows the life of British music artist Robbie Williams from his time in a local boy band to his climb to being a successful solo artist. The big visual take to this film would be Robbie taking the appearance of an anthropomorphic monkey.
