Thanks Clay! His birthday was actually in June, but since we’re celebrating his last day of chemo we thought it’s close enough to a birthday 😂

Here are some past cakes! I didn’t make a cake last year since we had our wedding on his birthday. They’re always a little bit shitty but I do my best.

Normally for James’ birthday, I make him a Yoshi cake - but since he spent his birthday in the hospital this year, I went a different route

After much deliberation, I went with Patamon! He's always been a fave of mine and I figured I would be more likely to find the other two in the wild early on anyway (which I was correct about).
He's miles from being in the Patamon family anymore, but it was a neat starting point!

I was genuinely torn between the three! There's so much potential for all of them!

Yeah! It's been such a bummer seeing cool cards, and then going "oh I will never own that, let alone even have the chance to"

Also I use “doll myself up” very liberally here. I put on clothes and some gel in my hair, which is more than I’ve done for a while.

Had to go to the office for the first time a little while.

Felt nice to doll myself up a little after not leaving the house very much lately.

Yuuuuuup. I want the Anima one so bad since she’s one of my fave summons of all time, and it looks like that’s not going to be happening anytime soon (at least without the assistance of a printer)

People are treating trading cards as an investment piece and it so frustrates me!

I started with a goal of getting all the FF9 cards, and I had to give up on the quickly when I saw how obscenely expensive some of the singles were.

Yeah the whole FOMO aspects and limited products have really frustrated me - I really wanted a lot of the alt arts but collector boosters being obscenely expensive really frustrated me, and then the secret lairs! Things also selling out immediately has been so frustrating.

I wish the trading card market a very crash. I miss when cards didn't cost an arm and a leg and were obtainable without having to fight scalpers

being an FF fan and MTG fan is dire in these times - I just want my cool cards

going insane trying to secure the MTG X FF holiday bundles. I want the scene boxes so bad and theres no clear answer on when places will start taking preorders, and if I'm late they're fully sold out :(

This won't be true in every case, Digimon and Pokemon are unique from each other

However, if you like monster taming games, I believe there's a good chance you'll love Digimon Story Time Stranger! Maybe give the demo a try, the save can carry over to the full game if you get it!
