I'm looking for a book on drawing/designing environments like landscapes and cityscapes, preferably more fantasy, with basis in knowledge of realism. Anyone got any suggestions?

It was painstakingly hard to do, but it taught me a lot about color blending! Probably one of the best moments in this piece. 🥰

I'm hoping in the near future I get to exhibit these works and that it may find it's place in a children's room.
Contemplating on repainting them to Celestia & Luna.

Last week I finished S5 of Stranger Things.
Told my friends "I feel like this was AI generated... did they plug the prior scripts into ChatGPT and skip the showbible?"

Today I am sent this meme. Ahhh, what the heck, I can't believe my senses were right. 😂😭

After reading Terryl Whitlatchs book, I spent some time doing creature studies on my own beings. I feel refreshed in my knowledge. 🥰

A group I'm in shared a viral video on oil pastels, so I dug out my old kiddie set. Found a barely used set of vintage Derwent Artists pencils too, in the "arteology" pile. It seems sediment and art supplies share a tendency to layer over time. 🫠
Anyway enjoy some pleasing shots of mediums.

Dared the snowy weather to pick up my new pencil case.
Was getting tired of not finding my various sketching tools. Maybe this will be better?

The colors on this are great. Good work. :)

Took me a bit to realize, but the ducky choker is so clever and had me chuckle.

My task-list this week includes making an entirely custom font from scratch.
I hope I still have my copy of the program for making them around...

It has a charm to it, can't describe it other than I feel like this could be on a food truck or a menu for a local place.

I was watching Jon Laymon Studios video on freehand sculpting a xenomorph alien and I am tempted to try my own hands at polymer clay my own weird beast. 🤔

I'm not familiar with those but they look very similar to the variants I am used to. I know most Castell pencils also give of more pigment of you dampen the nib too. Derwent is also close in feel to this brand. :)

Are you using polychromos? They are slightly drier than prismacolor (which I use). Alligator (their kids brand) is very close in consistency, but look for a soft white or those blenders.

Here's some of my whites, the creamer ones are up top. That eraser is good for picking up/removing pigment.

Try exploring blending, and blending with white. Caran d'Ache has a really good pencil for blending. Solid work :)

I toyed around with making myself a con badge! Double laminate, traditional with colored backing.

I'm willing to try my hands at making another cartoon badge for 8️⃣0️⃣$.

I saw this pencil case on an auction but missed it. It's a vintage one from zigzag. I had one like this & in metallic tube form with a blue alien as well as a kid. If you know where to find this one, tag me!!
