The case of journalist Estefany Rodríguez is not an isolated incident, but part of a troubling pattern: the use of the immigration system to silence journalists.

*The Idaho Feed update*

Going forward, Idaho-related accounts that frequently post AI slop, especially as bad as "Boise Now", will be added to the global Bluesky Idaho Block list and thus will not appear in any feeds we manage. I have a low tolerance for this shit, and their feed is 100% slop.

For one Boise family, e-bikes are a fun, money-saving way to do their part on climate change The alarming signs of climate change are all around us: devastating fires destroying whole communities, new temperature records set only to fall the next year, glaciers disappearing in real time. It's...

I don’t have kids, but have close family and know many who handle many kid errands on e-bikes. The family featured in this story gives a sense of what that looks like. Groceries? Easy, especially with a cart www.boisestatepublicradio.org/environment/...

It’s true, but I think they’re viable at greater distances than some may assume. My first e-bike commute was nearly 15 miles round trip, which the e-bike did faster by a minute on average. There are also real route/safety ?s, and no one should do it if they don’t feel safe doing so.

The Forest Service wants more roads to fight fires, but research shows that roads lead to more fires The Trump administration is trying to repeal the Roadless Rule, which prohibits new road construction in large swaths of national forests. Don’t like high gas prices? Get an e-bike, and leave your car parked. I’ve almost entirely replaced my car for city driving in Boise, and now use it almost exclusively for road trips. Good for you, good for your wallet, good for the planet. Stop driving, it’s honestly not that hard.

Rising homeowners insurance rates spark transparency push in Idaho Legislature Idaho lawmakers are pushing a bipartisan bill to make homeowners insurance more transparent, giving residents a clearer look at how wildfire risks are driving soaring premiums and policy cancellations...

The measure was held in committee today by a wide margin, but this is still a good @boisestatepublicradio.org Idaho Matters conversation on Idaho’s insurance crisis www.boisestatepublicradio.org/show/idaho-m...

Bodycam video contradicts ICE claims in fatal shooting of U.S. citizen Ruben Ray Martinez in Texas Video of last year's fatal shooting of Ruben Ray Martinez obtained by CBS News appears to contradict claims that Martinez was shot by an ICE agent because he "accelerated" and "intentionally ran over"...

DHS claimed "an ICE agent had fired 'defensive shots' into Martinez's vehicle after Martinez 'intentionally ran over' another agent."

But body cam video now "shows that Martinez's vehicle, a blue Ford Fusion, was stationary or going at a very low rate of speed when he was fatally shot."

I, for one, continue to think that the vast majority of people are decent, or at a minimum capable if decency. Don’t let the undeniable depravity of many highly visible elites represent all humans.

Thanks for sharing Mark! If you listen to the debrief that comes after the story, you’ll hear a VERY conservative state rep make a very heartfelt case for more industry transparency (along with more compelling testimonies from folks dealing with quite troubling situations)

US homeowners are like that meme of the guy with the stick, poking a dead fish and telling it to “C’mon, do something.” The longer we take to fix the insurance crisis, the less insurers will enjoy what gets done
