I highly recommend doing the migration manually. It may seem like a ton of work but it's worth it to transfer properly. My first attempt ended with an inability to like/post/etc.

Reasons for moving to a different server might be because you don't trust Bluesky's moderation policies. Rudy's thread above addresses that. Blacksky is probably the most advanced alternate server now, built for Black users. But they also have a couple of servers that non-Black users can migrate to.

It took me a week but I finally finished editing the 13th chapter of the sequel’s first draft.

Its so good. And so painful. It’s mine and my wife’s blood, our tears, right on the page.

I can’t wait to finish the various rounds of edits, etc. and get this in peoples’ hands. ❤️

Having some flashbacks from the days before SA and Lowtax; mods on a forum who would ban this serially disruptive user, he’d complain to the owner, and then he’d be back, and the mods (and us users who lobbied for the ban) got punished... 🫠

Makes me glad I just block the grifters as they show up in my feed. But I also know not everyone can do that, and need those lists, so it stinks. I saw something a while back where a bad actor took over a previously useful list and used it to harass people. 😢

I’m a late Gen X/early Xennial who grew up food insecure poor. I didn’t watch a lot of the supposedly formative stuff - I’m talking cartoons like Thundercats, most 80s movies, and shows like Saved By the Bell.
