The building in question is by far best-suited for this moment.

The location is already zoned for purpose, blocks away from outpatient treatment options to support clients post-discharge, multiple hospitals, and multi-modal transit that covers the entire region.

I live less than 400 feet from the proposed Crisis Care Center on Capitol Hill. I have seen for five years how desperately this center is needed, and how urgently we need to act.

I'm asking you today to help bring the Crisis Care Center to my neighborhood ASAP.

My husband & our families both know how mental health affects a person and their loved ones. We lost my uncle to suicide in 2014 & we both have extensive lived experience in inpatient & outpatient mental health treatment.

My statement in regard to comments made by State Representative John Gillette of Arizona:

"Every time there's a mass shooting in the US, my trans friends and I hold our breath."

As a Seattle resident, I've gotten an immense amount of notice and opportunity to weigh in on the comprehensive plan. There were many neighborhood meetings, a website that received thousands of comments, and many city council hearings like the one happening now. Homeowners aren't being excluded.

It is WILD that this sentiment is getting pushback but:

Absolutely do not RSVP to protests.

As an org, do not ask people to RSVP to protests.

It’s risky and irresponsible in our current environment.

People’s safety is more important than your org’s desire to list build!

...proximity to schools, "think about the children/businesses", "anywhere but here!" is, whether they mean to or not, actively fighting against the solution. Their desire, at its core, is to perpetuate the status quo, which WILL kill people.

I hope our leaders will make progress & open the centre.

If a community outreach commission/oversight group is formed, I'll be the first to apply, because I know how having these centres would have impacted myself and my family positively. It could've even saved my uncle's life. Having this CCC where it is can break cycles, and ho-humming about...

I live less than 500 feet from the proposed site, & have for over half a decade. There is tangible need for the CCC and the reality is that this location is a perfect candidate, wrt zoning and proximity not only to potential user populations but also wraparound/multidisciplinary services.

it should be noted Labour is in deep, deep electoral shit. Nigel Farage's far-right Reform UK party is tipped to form a gov't if an election is called now (which it won't be). Labour has until 2029 to right this ship, otherwise many current gov't ministers will lose their seats.
