08.10.2025 00:15 β π 108 π 13 π¬ 1 π 1I know what it's like. I lived it. I know how needed this is. I will meet with each one of you to get this done
Please, stay the course. Vote yes.

Easy access to these programs will save lives. It might've saved my uncle's life. But you need to act.
The Mayor said in his approval letter that he wants a citizen oversight board. I'll be the first today to say: put me in. Genuinely. I am ready to help, to serve.

The building in question is by far best-suited for this moment.
The location is already zoned for purpose, blocks away from outpatient treatment options to support clients post-discharge, multiple hospitals, and multi-modal transit that covers the entire region.

The city & county are in the midst of a crisis caused by our lack of compassion & action on mental health, substance abuse, & housing. We don't have time for delay and inaction. We've wasted decades doing that. We need solutions now.

I live less than 400 feet from the proposed Crisis Care Center on Capitol Hill. I have seen for five years how desperately this center is needed, and how urgently we need to act.
I'm asking you today to help bring the Crisis Care Center to my neighborhood ASAP.

My husband & our families both know how mental health affects a person and their loved ones. We lost my uncle to suicide in 2014 & we both have extensive lived experience in inpatient & outpatient mental health treatment.

My remarks today to the King County Council regarding the Crisis Care Center:
Thank you Mr Chairman, members of the Council.
My name is Charlotte Phillippe. I was born in Redmond, raised in Fairwood, and have lived in Seattle my entire adult life.

I hope this doesnβt cost me my election, but I donβt like the new Taylor Swift album.

βTo ensure that your ballot counts this year, itβs vital that you return it using a drop box so that it goes straight to your county elections officeβ

29.09.2025 17:35 β π 40 π 3 π¬ 1 π 0My statement in regard to comments made by State Representative John Gillette of Arizona:

24.09.2025 23:45 β π 207 π 35 π¬ 4 π 0As a Seattle resident, I've gotten an immense amount of notice and opportunity to weigh in on the comprehensive plan. There were many neighborhood meetings, a website that received thousands of comments, and many city council hearings like the one happening now. Homeowners aren't being excluded.
18.09.2025 22:55 β π 25 π 5 π¬ 2 π 0It is WILD that this sentiment is getting pushback but:
Absolutely do not RSVP to protests.
As an org, do not ask people to RSVP to protests.
Itβs risky and irresponsible in our current environment.
Peopleβs safety is more important than your orgβs desire to list build!
...proximity to schools, "think about the children/businesses", "anywhere but here!" is, whether they mean to or not, actively fighting against the solution. Their desire, at its core, is to perpetuate the status quo, which WILL kill people.
I hope our leaders will make progress & open the centre.
If a community outreach commission/oversight group is formed, I'll be the first to apply, because I know how having these centres would have impacted myself and my family positively. It could've even saved my uncle's life. Having this CCC where it is can break cycles, and ho-humming about...
10.09.2025 17:53 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0I live less than 500 feet from the proposed site, & have for over half a decade. There is tangible need for the CCC and the reality is that this location is a perfect candidate, wrt zoning and proximity not only to potential user populations but also wraparound/multidisciplinary services.

NEW: Mayor Harrell is facing charges of electioneering on the City's official social media after the City made a new Tik Tok fan page for him late July. The ethics czar initially dismissed the complaint, but now the commission will discuss the issue Oct. 1. www.theburnerseattle.com/post/ethics-...
05.09.2025 15:25 β π 39 π 8 π¬ 4 π 1In from the BBC: Pat McFadden, currently Chancellor of the Duchy of Lancaster, appointed Work & Pensions Secretary.
This means the incumbent W&P Secretary, Liz Kendall, is out of a job.
it should be noted Labour is in deep, deep electoral shit. Nigel Farage's far-right Reform UK party is tipped to form a gov't if an election is called now (which it won't be). Labour has until 2029 to right this ship, otherwise many current gov't ministers will lose their seats.

Rayner's replacement as Housing Sec'y
Murray's replacement as Scotland Sec'y
Powell's replacement as Commons Leader
...and still more to come.
