This is false.

Jamal Harrison Bryant, a Megachurch pastor, has said the boycott is over. He is not leaders, plural. He and his church were not the ones to start the calls for boycott.

Nekima Levy Armstrong, who founded the Racial Justice Network, and other Minnesota civil rights activists were.

And this includes anything ‘dunking’ on it, ‘satirising’ it, or ‘can you tell the difference?’ pieces.

They’re all ways to get you to engage with generative Ai.

The obvious wisdom and effectiveness of Housing First is obscured by the fact we've made "a tiny, no-frills apartment" an expensive status symbol in huge swathes of the country by creating an artificial housing shortage

If you're doomscrolling, guess what? So far there are 51 kākāpō chicks hatched and thriving this season, the same number of birds as we had in TOTAL in the 90s! Only one chick has died and there are still fertile eggs waiting to hatch!

“because fuck you”: why consumer choice is being stripped away and how the tech industry profits from it — fireborn

If you feel like technology is just getting worse when every tech company tells you it's getting better, you aren't crazy. This is probably the best breakdown of the situation I've ever read. The blog post is long, but you need to read it:

Let me be clear: I’m glad Kristi Noem was fired. But we still have to abolish ICE.

I keep seeing posts about ai models like "actually they're good at this thing now!"

but once you understand that ai tools are being built by fascists in service of attacks on humanity, whether or not they can generate useable code or do basic searches kind of stops being the main question

Psychology says people who constantly apologize for things that aren't their fault aren't being polite. They grew up in an environment where someone else's bad mood was always their responsibility to ... That reflexive 'sorry' you can't stop saying was never about politeness — it was a survival strategy you learned before you had the language to name what was happening in your home.

Due to severe weather, outside has been cancelled today. Stay tuned for updates on whether outside will resume tomorrow.

Sorry to get radical but I don’t think it’s my job or yours to embrace, accept, understand - and certainly not to use - the thing being sold to us as AI. I don’t like any part of it, so I won’t. I’m missing out? Good, that’s what I want. You’re worried about me missing out? That’s fuckin weird, man.

Warm ups part 1 Warm ups part 2 Warm ups part 3 Warm ups part 4

I went to art school...

I had no clue this is what people meant by "warm ups". Like, a whole routine? Each part specific and functional? Dang.

Probably would have less "forgot how to draw" days if I did these every time. I'm gonna try it.

We just found out our AI has been making up
analytics data for 3 months and I'm gonna
throw up.
Support
So we've been using an Al agent since November to
answer leadership questions about metrics. It seemed
amazing at first fast answers, detailed explanations,
everyone loved it.
I just found out it's been hallucinating numbers this
entire time.
Our VP of sales made territory decisions based on
data that didn't exist. Our CFO showed the board a
deck with fake insights. The Al was just inventing
plausible sounding percentages.
I only caught it by accident when someone asked me
to double check something. I started digging, and
holy shit, it's bad.

lol this is gonna burst so fucking hard

A valentine from Public Health of Seattle and King County. A man shivers in bed while a smiling lady in a red mask shows off her bandage on her arm.

Text: Noses are red
Ice packs are blue
I'm vaxed so miss me with severe symptoms of flu. A valentine from Public Health of Seattle and King County. Two lady scientists shrug lackadaisically. Text reads: My love for you can't be explained by science. Just like the new federal vaccine guidelines. A valentine from Public Health of Seattle and King County. Protesters in Minneapolis wear thick clothes and hold signs of support for immigrant neighbors. Text reads: To the health departments in the Twin Cities:
Love unites us.
Our hearts are with you.

Oh my GOD King County Public Health is just wilding out for Valentines Day (and a lovely one).
