I don't have the energy to spend on these people anymore though. They drained me so I think its makes more sense to learn, grow and spend my energy on people who matter!

I have been seeing professionals, and they all said I have a logical/task-oriented social style. They just labeled it by gender, which is confusing. It just took me years to accept it because of how I was being alienated and trying to blend.

I'm very heavily leaning toward changing my name. Not username, Lockquinn, but what I prefer to be called as a person. I think it's time to start a new chapter and leave behind the person I was. Thank you to those who stuck with me as I self-reflect and grow. It's been a difficult few years.

Heh, I don't think you're a dick. You just know what you want in a friendship, and that's honestly admirable. I didn't realize what was going on with me. So even when I set boundaries, they were weak. It made me act/feel chaotic. No more of that, hopefully. (I do have to break a 30+ year old habit.)

Sad part, they don't see it that way. It's up to me to communicate the differences. And even if I do explain, I'm task-oriented. I do not think they care to understand my point of view. It's easier to assume I'm cold and a terrible friend than to understand a different social type.

With that said. I have chosen to be more true to myself, I don’t have to perform someone else’s style to be worthy or to be enough. Yes I will learn to communicate better now that I know where I stand, but I will also protect and forgive myself.

I've been told I'm cold even though I have given years of my time and effort to adapt to the emotional style. But it was never enough. I felt that most of the emotional style always wanted more more more. Even my recent friendships ended cause I didn't give enough emotional validation.

Someone on Reddit put the differences simple:

I recently came to terms with the fact that I have a logical social style. This has opened up my eyes to a lot of relationship problems I've been facing. And I'm looking for more people out there who are like me. I feel incredibly alone and misunderstood by the other side.
