Today, BH Paris in Team Trio is my first time playing a competitive FaB event.
There were no BHs in France when I started playing, then I started casting, then working for LSS, so I just never had the chance.
I won't lie : I'm terrified.
But I'm playing with friends so I can't lose, right?

... and it feels like a strong foundation to tell other good stories in the DC Universe (I'm sure Supergirl will be great, for example).

It's not my favorite Superman movie, but it's my son's favorite, by far. And just for that, I loved it.

... and it tends to defuse every emotional moment by making a joke in the middle of it, but it is, in a way, a Superman movie of its time.

Not exactly the Superman I'd want, but probably the Superman I need.

It's fun, goofy, effusive, fast, it has a lot of heart...

It is a good movie. Not only because right-wing commentators are at it calling it "Woke" (it is only woke if you think being a "good person" is the same as being woke, btw...).

It goes all over the place and doesn't have a lot of room to tell every story it wants to tell, the writing is uneven...

I'm happy I'll get to share it with my son regardless of what the movie's about.

Worst case, it'll be another fast and fun action movie, I know Gunn is good at that.

And it'll give me another opportunity to dive into my comics collection to show him all the good Superman stories he should read!

... I'm hopeful James Gunn took the opportunity to tell a story that's needed in 2025.

As the USA (and most of the world, my country included) descends into fascism, I just want to see a blockbuster story about hope, justice, love, and how we should all strive to make the world a better place.

An orphaned Alien (probably illegal?), crashing down to Earth with powers making him a demigod. And what does he do with that power? He saves people... and fights a crazy billionaire. Insane, right?

I don't know anything about the new movie, I avoided all trailers and ads, but...

Tonight, for the very first time in my life, I'm going to see a Superman movie in a theater with my son.

Superman has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, he was my favourite superhero when I was a kid and even as I grew older (until now...), I kept being drawn to his stories.

Nah I'm always upset when I lose, even against much better opponents. I never played Chess but I'd be upset if I lost vs Magnus Carlsen :D

Waiting for the perfect moment to re-watch this with my 12 yo son.

I "tested" him by making him watch the movie first, and he didn't fall asleep or didn't make rude comments about the clothes and the fact that everybody listens to Queen all the time, so we should be good to go!

Same. 100% worth it. I spend less time doomscrolling now that I avoid it, which is a net bonus on my mental wellbeing.
