I understand WHY and ultimately if it wasn't for FGO (and the dedicated fans over the last decades), we would not have gotten an official translation of Tsukihime, Mahoyo or FSN, but on the other hand, I dislike the choices very much after reading the source material.

I can't really get past him being Shirou and maybe that's a me problem but I feel I'd have a different perception of his character if he didn't look like Shriou.

I genuinely forgot Waver was a pseudo and I feel bad how it completely he completely overwrote a Chinese tactician. They really did not try. Same feelings about Kirei. A proper Rasputin servant would have gone so insanely hard.

Waver completely overrides his pseudo to the point that I forget he isn’t an actual servant 😭 I feel so bad for the figure was suppose to be. Feels like they couldn’t write him engaging enough to make people like him so they just slapped Waver’s face on him.

I also agree but I feel it’s less bad if it’s not the FSN cast? I think my particular gripe is with Sakura, Shirou, and Rin. Like let the children rest.

I do understand the feeling of being weirded out by embracing your heritage. Kind of feels like play pretend. My mom’s family did their best to stay connected to their Irish roots but my dad never learned Italian because my grandad never taught him.

I think it would do a lot of folks good to see where their families came from and how much they had to sacrifice in order to leave. How bad it must have been to leave their home behind and travel across in ocean in dangerous conditions for the chance of something better.

I don’t think it’s weird at all. My mother was really into genealogy and we ended up reconnecting with sides of the family over in Ireland. We also met our relatives in Italy but the language barrier was a lot. I felt kind of bad bc I can only write ok in Italian but they seemed happy we visited.
