User Onboarding Tips and Tricks for Django Developers
YouTube video by Cory Zue User Onboarding Tips and Tricks for Django Developers

Just published a short video about how I built the anonymous onboarding flow for Life in Weeks.

Letting people play with your app before sign up is one of the best way to get more conversions - especially in B2C.

And it's not hard to build (in Django)!

The Golden Age of Engineering: AI is Supercharging Engineersโ€”But Whoโ€™s Getting Left Behind? AI is transforming engineering, making developers 10x more productive. AI is supercharging engineers - weโ€™re building faster, learning quicker, and doing more with less.

But while we race ahead, most people I know arenโ€™t using AI at all. If we donโ€™t bridge this gap, are we leaving them behind?

Do we have a moral duty to make AI accessible?

Today I used ChatGPT's audio & visual capabilities to brainstorm a content creation strategy on my whiteboard. I put my phone next to me, camera pointed at the board, and started talking. The conversation felt incredibly natural produced a strategy that suits my business perfectly.

Build AI teammates with Zapier Agents Create your custom AI agent in minutes. Equip your agents with live business data and have them do work across 7,000+ apps โ€” on command and while you sleep.

Zapier came out with its own solution for building agents. Seems like it could be a time-saver on paper compared to building them manually on n8n or Make. Anyone tried them?https://zapier.com/agents

That's correct. In the GPT's instructions, I give it clear guidance on how to use its tools in different situations. Combined with "conversation starters", it makes for a super quick workflow

Absolutely not. I just think it just becomes exponentially more difficult with project size / complexity. A good understanding of software / cloud architecture and testing are invaluable IMHO. But I know there are folks who would disagree, so don't take my word for it :D

Step 4: Have a meeting with your agent. I like to run daily standups to stay organized. Paul automatically logs every meeting in a Google Doc and reads it at the beginning of each meeting, so the quality of our conversations improves over time.

Step 3: Define your agents actions. Use the Make.com webhooks to create the actions for your agent. Paul can access Google docs, read my current backlog and create new Linear issues for me.

Step 2: Create a custom GPT on ChatGPT.com for your agent. Give it a name, a purpose and instructions. For example, I've built "Paul", a product manager that runs daily stand-ups and retrospectives with me.

List of Make.com scenarios that serve as GPT actions

Step 1: Define agent capabilities on Make.com. I do project management on Linear and use Google Docs a lot, so I've created some basic read/write actions. Using the "Custom Webhook" trigger, you get a unique endpoint for each scenario.

For a while now, I've been exploring different platforms to create AI agents that assist me in daily tasks. I finally found a system that is both easy to use and flexible. So far I've built a product owner, project manager and brand expert.
