I would argue that most languages were designed without modern version control and review patterns in mind. For example, relaxed syntax that gives way to linters, a lack of trailing commas in lists. Otherwise I'm sure most languages had collaboration in mind.

I'm going to be honest here, I think AI is going to do so much damage to the usable internet that even after it's inevitably crashes out, it's going to take years to disentangle from every space it's polluted, like digital asbestos it's gonna be time consuming effort and likely expensive venture.

I feel the same way. Why bother learning the syntax of some random ORM just to throw it away when the next ORM comes into fashion? Not to mention the performance hit. Learn one SQL and you've basically learned them all.

Knex is nice though since you're basically writing SQL with it.

That's true. It might be due to a limitation of the permission model making it necessary? You can't truly "own" just one channel on a discord server but I think you can with IRC. Like on an IRC server you can be a channel admin but I don't know if that exists in discord.

Yeah I get what you're saying. With discord, the concept of a server basically represents a community. While with IRC it is more likely that a channel represents a community.
