hey i dont blame you, they are long af. there's a new book in the series coming out soon though, and it's much shorter and meant as more of an introduction into the world, so you could wait a little for that and see how you feel!

i won't convince you they're good and worth it because a series shouldn't make you wait for it to get better imo, especially not for 3 WHOLE BOOKS!!!!!!! save yourself the trouble, i recommend the roots of chaos series instead if you haven't read it :)

oh i see, i've also been in that sort of position so i totally get that.

honestly it might not even be emotional maturity. i feel like when it's a worthwhile person to reconnect with, it should come pretty easily, but if it feels like "pulling teeth" then maybe they're just not someone you want in your life? (i could be making assumptions but ive experienced similar)
