jfc not that this particularly important in the scheme of things but remember when we had rules?
iran war week 1 vs week 2
Brutal stuff. The hyperscalers are a death cult now. Meta has burned $100bn+ on nothing and human beings will suffer for it
It’s crazy that he is negotiating on behalf of the U.S. at all. He has no government appointment and no one elected him and he has no business being in those meetings even without the grift
Recalling the Executive Order That Ended Censorship Forever
FCC to journalists: cover the Iran war the way the president prefers or lose your broadcast license.
More Americans have died in the illegal undeclared Iran War than died during the Afghanistan withdrawal that was portrayed to the American public as a presidency-annulling catastrophe for Joe Biden.
a whole mini drama here about the role of the archive and the democratization of information for good and ill
companies have long hijacked the names of real or dead people to create fake support for unpopular policy during public regulatory comment periods, something made exponentially worse by AI
🚨 A new frontier of coordinated disinformation.
Fossil fuel industry front groups are using AI platforms to flood clean air regulators with fake public comments—submitted under real residents' names, without their consent.

The Kushner brand is basically: I'm hear to offer peace deals and get money, and I'm all out of peace deals
The corruption of the Trump Administration remains so massive while also being so obvious that people just don’t know what to do. If Kushner was merely shaking someone down for $5,000 using his govt role, there’d be an outcry. But do it for $5,000,000,000 and mostly there’s 🤷♂️

Damn.
Trump did not win ANY majority. He got less than 50% of the vote. Hillary Clinton's victory margin in 2016 was larger.
Of course we could consider they were neither government officials nor working in any official capacity but that brings a different set of issues that the legal system is also uninterested in taking seriously.
I don't see any reason why government officials should be protected from reputational damage for their actions while working in an official capacity.
Did Trump and Vance say thank you?
Is that why they sent our Marines
This is not particularly respectful of the public’s right of access to the courts!
Even the GOP is saying “the media is sanewashing us. We meant the terrible thing”
This is a good lesson for journalists: Use plain language to state true things clearly.
The tax cuts will sail through because Republicans also want to cut taxes. Meanwhile the actual policies that would benefit the majority of Democratic constituents like clean energy, consumer protection, education, healthcare, etc will languish
Re: multiple Dems suddenly talking about how we must cut taxes
Everyone can see that Dems will be swept into power in the midterms. The wealthy have an interest in shaping their policies *now*. When Dems win, they'll credit tax cuts and enact them as a way of fulfilling their promise to voters
What's awesome about this is that Amazon under Bezos got caught doing differential pricing in the late 90s and vowed to never, ever, ever do it again. They still change prices rapidly, of course, and now Bezos is recapitulating this at WaPo.

What if we could be the tough on immigration, tax cutting, cop loving, war fighting party?
It's dumb. You'll never win a game of 'I'll lower taxes more' with Republicans. Also... the government needs money to do things?
even the Searchlight and CAP people savaged these ideas lol www.huffpost.com/entry/cory-b...
i think it's really really bad for Dems to roll with the idea that taxes are bad instead of 'everyone deserves a living wage'. if you ever wanted to add fuel to the "takers and makers" argument this is basically lobbing them an alley-oop
