I work with email professionally. Spammers are using AI to uplevel all their schemes, everything from sketchy quasi legal businesses to outright scams and crimes. They might want him as target or bait or to lend legitimacy or all kinds of unsavory plans.

One of my regular sayings at work is “spammers ruin everything.” Sorry to hear you’re dealing with that.

Nods, hopefully (and likely) so. Just wanted to point out that it isn't quite as bizarre as it sounds on its face. No one should panic about this one! But these days, I don't dismiss things out of hand anymore, either.

I am very privileged to live here and have a member of Congress I actually like. I know that's not normal. But I'd love a world where more of my good weird progressive friends had professional reps they could generally feel happy with.

I mean, I know you're joking but so far I'm happy with my rep @replsimon.bsky.social. She's new to her current role, but was in local politics before this, and I expect she will continue to be a career politician going forward. She did have another career first but not sure that counts now.

I hate this spin. In a just world, a "career politician" is someone who deeply knows the ins and outs of government and policy, someone who knows how to get things done. I want someone like that to be my advocate! What I want is a career politician who is a good leader and shares my values.

I don’t think people understand what’s this means: MEDICARE AND MEDICAID ARE BLOCKING ALL WHEELCHAIRS, WALKERS, CANES, INSULIN PUMPS, GLUCOSE MONITORS, CPAP MACHINES, NEBULIZERS, BEDS, CRUTCHES, COMODE CHAIRS, BED SORE PRESSURE PADS, CHAIR LIFTS, OXYGEN TANKS, BREATHING EQUIPMENT, to name a few.

Even setting politics aside, I'd much rather go to a party thrown by Flavor Flav. That sounds like it would be actually fun.

There was a public radio segment on a 1960s white family from midtown Palo Alto who provided a home address for school registration to a Black student from East Palo Alto due to the disparity in quality of school districts. I have (white) family who went to that kid's highschool around that time.

Having grown up in the area, I can believe it. Not many generational families of color in the area compared to SF. And of course, there’s East Palo Alto. As an “enlightened Californian” kid, it didn’t occur to me I had grown up around segregation until I was an adult.

Today in San Mateo County systemic racism history, Redwood City functioned as a "sundown town" sometime between 1920 and 1950. In December 1946, the home of a Black World War II veteran, John J. Walker, was burned down after he and his wife received threats.

Gay sex & comedy might not be strictly in line with accepted mental healthcare standards, but it does sound pretty therapeutic! ☺️
