A Helbrute in World Eaters colours. I remembered him being more finished than this, somehow! A candidate for repainting - if I learn how to use him in games, properly.

Preparing for a 1k game of #Warhammer #40k tonight and have made the harsh-but-necessary decision to bench my Helbrute. This goofy guy has a 100% track record of getting one-shotted off the table in my games, so he has to go - Khorne would never tolerate such weakness! 😀

Exactly. To be honest, I’m glad to hear other folk felt the same way. I felt like a right grump for not enjoying it!

I abandoned it because it was dull, then tried returning to the saved game months later. Started it up and realised I was on the threshold of the big climactic mission, and hadn’t even noticed!

Perry plastic medieval French knights from the Hundred Years’ War. All bare plastic at the moment just after assembly, awaiting priming. They are glued to sticks in sixes, to match the intended final basing.

I know DBA has all sorts of problems, is dated, etc. but it’s got a charm and is so simple you can’t go wrong. I still use it even now. 🙂

Nice. I think they were working on some medieval humans too, which were also possibly historical ones. Kind of waiting on them, but no updates for a while, sadly! The fantasy range should be very strong, though.

Nasty! Hopefully the lead is flexible enough that you can coax it back into shape.

A great look into a hobbyists’ project decisions, touching on practical stuff like what they can afford to buy; plus lore-based decisions. A refreshing change from optimised lists for maximum power, when somebody just chooses something because it’s thematically fitting. 🫡

With the Beastmen Arcane Journal drawing close for The Old World, I thought I’d assemble my army collection for the first time. Quite a good horse, I feel! 🐐

#Hobbystreak day 7 and I think he’s done! I haven’t been this pleased/exhausted with a big model since I did a Stardrake. 🙂

Some great options there for a bit of Warmaster. Looking forward to see what else comes out in the range!

#Hobbystreak day 6 and I’m almost there - just the glowing sword blade to go! Building up from white to red, but so far I’ve only yellow and orange on. Model is also upside-down to let it dry without the paint pooling in odd places, and keep it tending to the tip of the blade.

Angron now with skin highlights, more layering done on the base, and almost completed!

#Hobbystreak day 4 & 5 and I’ve suddenly been seized by an urge to get Angron over the line. Highlights, detailing, and all that. Now at that point where you seem to have about five paints on the go at once.
