The easiest way to use pandoc for pretext is to use the feature in vs code and pretext-tools. Assuming you have pandoc installed, search for the command pretext: convert file to pretext.
There are currently too many conversions in pretext-tools. I need to clean that up.
if you click the first hyperlinked word on any wikipedia article, and then click the first hyperlinked word on the next one, and so on, within 10-15 clicks you will get to the wikipedia article for philosophy. and i think that's beautiful

17.04.2025 21:35 β π 6 π 5 π¬ 0 π 0After waffling for years, I finally tried mastery based grading for the first time. Wow, what have I been wasting my life doing before now?? It finally consistently felt like my students and I were working together to all understand the hard stuff together.

Is the idea that parts of your typed notes will be replaced with whitespace for a printed version? How much whitespace?
I think this is a great idea, but isn't possible right now unless you write the notes as worksheets, which is the only way to get "workspace" currently.
I've used it for quite a while for notes, todos, and almost everything productivity related. Love it. But to use it for tasks, you need to make sure you have a system to remind yourself to look at it; I don't know of any notification stuff you could do.

Two examples: 5 years ago I became chair of faculty Senate, which meant almost no teaching but instead being the lone faculty voice to the upper admin. Then this year I'm on sabbatical spending all my time developing PreTeXt features. Always wanted to do programming; I get to roleplay for a year.
