Washington, D.C. — Today, Ezra Levin, Indivisible’s co-founder and co-executive director, released the following statement on Indivisible’s campaign to boycott and protest Disney and ABC following the firing of Jimmy Kimmel:

“Bob Iger apparently never watched Andor. He should binge watch it this weekend, look deep within his soul, and reverse course – or resign in disgrace as CEO of Disney. Until then, Indivisible is organizing to save this beloved American company from disgrace, and to protect our constitutional rights that Iger is so willing to sacrifice.

“Iger’s cowardice is bad for Disney and bad for democracy. There was a time when Disney was on the side of democracy, producing some of the most memorable anti-fascist cartoons of the 1940s to help us win the war. But eighty years later, Iger is tarnishing a great American company’s reputation with his cowardly capitulation to Trump’s goons. Rather than stand up for free speech, he’s falling over to help an unpopular president squash dissent and trample our rights. Shame, Bob, shame.

I felt pretty darn good about this press release on Iger and Disney. indivisible.org/statements/i...

This is one of those situations when I don’t want to hit the “heart” button because I don’t know what it means.

I refer to the local Organ Procurement group as vultures.

NHS facing ‘absolutely shocking’ £27bn bill for maternity failings in England Exclusive: Legal actions rise after death or injury of hundreds of babies and women in recent years

It should be a matter of national shame that we now spend more on maternity litigation than the total cost of running maternity services.”

“The best arguments in the world won’t change a single person’s point of view. The only thing that can do that is a good story. stories are a kind of benevolent Trojan horse. You let them in, and they add complication, allowing you to understand a thing and its opposite are true at the same time.”
