I’m not quite sure that the series itself was completely cancelled, but my part of the project was cut out.
I still hope the series gets made.

The first one is very unfinished for me. I shot with a model, but didn’t quite get what I needed, so the figure feels a little stiff to me. That’s on me for not giving better direction. It was supposed to part of the Astronomer series, but ended up as its own thing.

I owe this piece a lot to any of the successes I’ve had as an illustrator. She became my first ‘fan-favorite’ and landed me my first art director job when the lady that would end up hiring me bought it from a small show.

It’s an old piece, but it’ll remain one of my favorites forever.

Just the standard time-lapse option on my iPhone camera. I still have a 13. I have no idea what number they’re on now.

Working on a private commission from 2023.
Rendering the clockwork gears in the automaton desk definitely took the longest.
Lots of thin layers of pencil to get that shine the way I wanted it.

I didn’t plan this piece out at all. Which is very unlike me. But my friend and I talked about the idea for the shoot and wanted something ‘Hammer-y’ and this is where I went with it.

The seafoam moon just felt like the way to go here. It's got a vintage feel to it that I like.
I laid his base down in oil and tidied him up with indigo pencil.
The paper is toned with a heavy wash of Payne’s gray and indigo blue watercolor. Once that dries, I can draw and paint on top of it.
