I really want to some pulpy reference shoots soon. I need to go thrifting for some wardrobe.

Thanks, psy. I may end up finishing that dragon piece when/if time permits. Weโ€™ll see what happens.

Iโ€™m not quite sure that the series itself was completely cancelled, but my part of the project was cut out.
I still hope the series gets made.

2022 was a good year.
Pencil and charcoal on Strathmore toned paper.
I hope I get to spend a little more time with this universe and flesh it out more.

Excellent decision. That opening cinematic with Ashtar standing on the balcony is still amazing.

Two preliminary sketches for canceled projects from earlier this year.
One was for a Netflix series on Alice Roosevelt and the other for a charity event.
Very different genres, but both wouldโ€™ve been fun to complete.

Thanks, Alec.
The first one is very unfinished for me. I shot with a model, but didnโ€™t quite get what I needed, so the figure feels a little stiff to me. Thatโ€™s on me for not giving better direction. It was supposed to part of the Astronomer series, but ended up as its own thing.

Two approaches for the same idea. The first is still the largest piece Iโ€™ve done and donated in 2014.
The second was for a show I had in Indianapolis in 2015.

I owe this piece a lot to any of the successes Iโ€™ve had as an illustrator. She became my first โ€˜fan-favoriteโ€™ and landed me my first art director job when the lady that would end up hiring me bought it from a small show.

The seafoam moon just felt like the way to go here. It's got a vintage feel to it that I like.
I laid his base down in oil and tidied him up with indigo pencil.
The paper is toned with a heavy wash of Payneโ€™s gray and indigo blue watercolor. Once that dries, I can draw and paint on top of it.
