Q: “A new report says the military investigation has found the United States struck the school in Iran. As Commander in Chief, do you take responsibility for that?”
Trump: “I don’t know about it.”
Breaking News: New video adds to evidence that a U.S. missile likely hit an Iranian school where 175 people, many of them children, were reportedly killed.

Important brief guidance from Democracy Forward on some federal anti-"DEI" efforts that are now not enforceable.
Possibly of use: a 2024 attempt to understand K12 dynamics. steinhardt.nyu.edu/ihdsc/limita...
Yesterday, those who teach Intro to Sociology at Florida colleges (as opposed to universities) received a ready-made curriculum from the state and were ordered to teach it.
Yes, you read that correctly. The *state* is enforcing a curriculum on college profs, complete w/ the following restrictions:
I am doing a lit review of research published since 2020 that documents the K-12 opportunity consequences of newly spiking restriction pressures.
If you have relevant pubs, please share w me so we include them. micapollock@ucsd.edu

Next time somebody tries to get me to justify the existence of the humanities, I’ll just point out how for the past two Super Bowls we’ve all jumped online and engaged in collective semiotics and hermeneutics of the half-time show as text.
I’ve been thinking today about how our undergraduates have been witnessing this behavior as a national model since elementary school. That’s what I’m thinking about.
There is no justification for racism. There is no justification for using AI, a meme, or stereotype to advance racist agendas and spread disinformation. Dehumanizing Black communities and communities of color will never be okay.
I love this #USvsHate video. It captures some of our student and teacher participants' powerful voices and anti-hate messages over the past few years.
Join us in 2026: submit student messages in any media to usvshate.org by February 27, this year's deadline!

I didn’t know this was your work, thanks! Nice to meet you.
I’m trying to find your research on this, can you point me to it?
Also a great primer on basic rights.
Quite a statement by the Republican governor of Vermont
Chuck Schumer says Senate Dems won't support DHS funding. This thing is really moving now.
The federal stuff gets the most oxygen, the state stuff never stopped.
I know there's a lot of passion to help fix what is ailing America. Here's one thought. You live in a school district. See if your district is holding an election for school board this year. If so, find out if there is a pro-public education candidate. If so, do something to support--put up a
Martin Peterson's creative response to being banned from teaching Plato (shared with his permission).
School has been cancelled tomorrow and Friday across the city of Minneapolis, because our federal government has made it unsafe for children here.
We need to document how cancellations over so called “DEI” are removing basic K12 supports and opportunities from kids—here, staff serving rural public schools. #opportunitytalk

Members of Congress: stop posting online and APPEAR, PHYSICALLY on the steps of the Capitol to decry this unconstitutional violation of domestic & international law. SHOW THE PEOPLE the level of danger we are facing as a country.

Hi! In 2026, if helpful, I’m available for public talks that can support local K12 dialogue under duress. I’d love to directly support K12 educators to persist in supporting youth, and parents/students to back up K12. Could share Schooltalk and Everyday Antiracism in PD sensitive to today’s context.
In real time, ideologically driven cancellations of federal grants are removing opportunities to explore careers, get glasses and health services, prepare and apply for college, and more.
Are these rural parents aware?
Words are part of supporting children.
Banning words restricts supports.
"Banning the word 'disability' from Head Start” …. "No administration can claim to support children with disabilities while banning the very word that protects them."
“It's time to protect ourselves by demanding that legislators pass sensible gun control and value children over guns.”
It’s loooong past time. My daughter and I wrote this in 2018 when she was in middle school. She’s now a college student. Furious at politicians and heartbroken for Brown students.
