I have no idea who owns what in this guess, Sony takes the Destiny IP away from Bungie and gives it to another studio. There is still something you can do with Destiny, NetEase seems to be doing a fantastic job with Destiny Rising. Sony still sees some value in Destiny as a franchise.

After the Renegade release and all the content tied to Renegades season, Bungie halts all work on the next expansion and works on the fundamentals of the game, fixing most of the player points. They actually turn "we're listening" to "we're getting shit done".

Bungie keeps trying to keep calm and carry on. Keeps trying to release expansions and doing the same old balance patches, player base slowly goes away and one day we all wake up to see the Bungie Blog post titled "Thank you Guardians", game shuts down.

I will say this, this was the first baseball I've watched from start to finish in a long time, I'm so happy the game moves quicker now!
