I'm sorry, but I frikin' love the idea of an emergency choir

From me today: Advocacy groups applaud Canada’s new cap on bank NSF fees
If you've ever been hit by these fees, you'll be happy today.

Wtf, WestJet, I'm 5'3"!
Guess they haven't converted the seats back. Ick. I'm not sure I'll ever fly WestJet again.
Can't wait for Porter to expand their direct flights from Winnipeg
I bet he is.
Welcome to Winnipeg
From me today:
Iraqi‑Canadian feminist leader Yanar Mohammed was shot and killed outside her home in Baghdad Monday.

People in northeast B.C. have operated on a single, year-round time since the 1970s. They love it, and say you will, too

Saskatchewan is on standard time, yes? So yah, will be interesting to see how BC does on daylight time.
That's fair. I was in charge of my kid getting to school and I dreaded the first few days after the change because it made my job so much harder.
I get parents not wanting to send their kids to school in the dark. Broader point of car-centric cities not being safe for pedestrians stands tho'.
Lucky! I just think that not changing in the first place prevents anyone from having to deal with it.
Like I said, I don't care if we adopt DST or ST. Just keep it there.
Are you in charge of getting them to daycare/school?
I'm not trying to dunk on you. My husband is a daycare worker, my best friend is a teacher and the stress kids go through with time changes are no fun for anyone.
I honestly don't care which time state we choose, it just needs to stop changing.
This. One of the best pieces of advice I ever got was to stop expecting rational behaviour from irrational people. Seems simple enough, but it was a lightbulb moment.
People who don't get worked up about clock changes don't have children. Wrangling a tired kid out of bed to go to school is a NIGHTMARE.
Now, the dark thing? The dark is not the problem. It's the fact our cities are so car centric that it's not safe for kids to walk, no matter the sunlight level.
Tell me you don't have kids without telling me you didn't have kids lol
Lolllll
And see that is awesome. I might consider giving them a discount anyway just for not being jerks about it lol
I usually just block those folks right away but every once in a while I do reply with a snarky "Like the ad says, no." Depends on my mood.
Hahahaha, right? Like, why should I give you a discount because you live far away? How is that my problem?
FB Marketplace Person: Will you take $100
Me: No, sorry, the price is firm at $140
Person: But I have to drive from Dauphin to get it
Person again: Never mind, lost interest
Person one more time: You missed out on $100, not smart
How's your morning going?
I have never seen a politician more directly copy this speech in my life
My kid went last night, said it was great!
Trump continues that: "heavy and pinpoint bombing, however, will continue, uninterrupted throughout the week or, as long as necessary to achieve our objective of PEACE THROUGHOUT THE MIDDLE EAST AND, INDEED, THE WORLD!"
bombing will continue until there's world peace. fuck.
Honestly, I thought it was some lyrics about how beautiful Africa was or something.
I mean, I don't think my childhood was a lie, but it's still not quite as epic, lyrically, as I thought lol
I cannot confirm if this is true but if it is, that's hilarious 🦁
It's been a long time coming. Canadian independent bookstores have banded together to create an online book buying source so you can avoid the behemoth in the room. (Here are the titles published by CMU Press, which I run.)

OHHHHH Winnipeg Jets fans are not gonna like this.
Ooooooof this from Hellebuyck is not landing well with Winnipeg Jets fans though.
(Especially as fellow Jet, Kyle Connor, was among the five US players who did not go to the White House with the rest of the team.)
Jets Reddit reaction is a combination of disgust and a sense of betrayal.
