I was exploring the effects of shooting through various fabrics with a friend. I am not sure who was having more fun with this idea as she could hardly stop dancing around and laughing throughout the entire session.

I had a lovely afternoon with Kayla last month creating some really cool images. This was shot on some expired (2004) Fujichrome slide film. I rewound the film and shot a second exposue of the creek in a local ravine to create the sparkly effect. The colour balance on this film is a bit off, somewhat expected by film 20 years past its best before date π. B&W version of this look pretty cool too.

Someone I would have liked to get to know better. It took us a long time to arrange this session. We had a lot of fun with it. Then she moved away.

I had an incredible afternoon a couple of months back when

Good for you to make that attempt and especially being mostly successful! I look forward to seeing some of your backlog. These two of Madeliene are excellent!

Iβve worked with her just once (so far) and loved it.

Gloria was so sweet to work with. She was gentle, quiet, relaxed and maybe a little shy. We collaborated a couple of times with great results. I think her life got very busy right after this time and we were never able to set up any further sessions.

Fun fact: this woman's sister used this image on the EP she and her band released a while ago.

I am especially delighted when asking a friend if she'd be interested exploring my ideas they say yes.

Sara was wonderful to collaborate with. We created many lovely images. Sadly, she seems to have disappeared soon after this session π’

This wonderful model disappeared very soon after our session a couple of years back.
Right?! Thank you π

Ah, ok. My bad, just assumed that it would be the modelβs choice but of course you are right, does not have to be. π

Another example of a style of bodyscape I think fabric would ruin. In this image, I am especially delighted by the "mystery" of what we are looking at. If she were wearing something the mystery would not exist, we would recognize instantly what this is, delight would be lost.
She was such a delight to work with. I had the privilege to work with her twice a couple of years ago. I did not realize she preferred to remain anonymous?

A great favourite of mine taken a few years back. This has been printed and is hanging in a friend's home.
... The lines of the human form are so elegant, so delightful, so perfect that fabric would do nothing to improve it. You might end up with a very nice picture but the simple elegance of the human form would be lost. (of course, all of this is in my ever so humble opinion π)

I think if one were to equate a bodyscape with a landscape, adding fabric to the bodyscape would be akin to putting a building in a landscape. It might be a very nice building but it would destroy the natural beauty of the scene.

I had an interesting conversation last night with a friend about why I prefer no fabrics in so many of my images. I don't think I made myself entirely clear with my words but I hope maybe these images I've been posting recently might speak more clearly to this point....
You know, so often (almost always?) itβs the model who elevates an idea from nice or interesting to wow. π
