Through delicate layers of paint, erasure, and revision, Lauda explores disintegration and transformation, leaving behind traces of earlier gestures as quiet evidence of the work’s evolution. The result is an abstract composition that holds the memory of its making.

Next up, we’re pleased to share the acquisition of Jean-François Lauda’s 𝘜𝘯𝘵𝘪𝘵𝘭𝘦𝘥 (2023–2024) at Art Toronto.

Lauda's work reflects a deep preoccupation with time—both the slow, layered process of creation and the duration of the viewer’s encounter.

Laur P’s work imagines new worlds inspired by nature, deep time, and memory, exploring how forms and materials grow, change, and interact. Through a slow, layered process, Laur P shows how life, decay, and transformation shape both the natural world and our understanding of it.

A new addition to the McMichael collection: Laur P’s 𝘔𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘤𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘵𝘰𝘯𝘪𝘤 𝘣𝘢𝘤𝘬𝘥𝘳𝘰𝘱 (2025), acquired at @art_toronto.

𝘍𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘙𝘰𝘣𝘦 is made of hand-crafted clay beads assembled to resemble a traditional feasting robe. The expressive colour palette suggests an abundant feast.

Yu’s work explores abstraction and the complexities of belonging, drawing on the concept of superposition—the idea of co-existing in multiple states. Her luminous works, painted on aluminum, challenge fixed roles, exploring the dynamic relationship between guest & host in fluid, ever-shifting ways.
