"It’s clear that EPA means to tilt the scales in favor of polluting school buses, and kill any interest in the Clean School Bus program by unexpectedly halting and starting funding for school districts." - @lasmogguy.bsky.social

Heading to South Coast AQMD hearing and ran into a zero-emission Cheeto truck while getting coffee. Good sign.
Mailing some holiday cards. I love this stamp … I’m going to name it “Electric Long Life Vehicle with Dude Sending Mail From the Sewer.”
@lasmogguy.bsky.social put it so well.
"Before Jesse, there was no playbook. What was remarkable from the beginning is that Jesse wasn’t afraid to write stuff down, to demand things, to spend lots of time scouring for evidence.”
Thank you, @governor.ca.gov, for standing strong for Californians and the right to breathe clean air.
This piece of legislation would have made it more difficult to shape clean air policies in Southern California, the nation's smog capital.
GOOD NEWS: @governor.ca.gov signed #AB1280, which will help California manufacturers shift to zero-emissions equipment like heat pumps and thermal energy storage!
Next up 👉 “We hope to see Governor Newsom invest funds from cap and invest in the INDIGO program” - @lasmogguy.bsky.social
Still awaiting signature - commonsense legislation supported by over 90% of CA voters that will make sure utilities don't pass the costs of their lobbying and image polishing into energy bills.
@gavinnewsom.bsky.social: let’s save people money and sign #AB1167!

Etransit buses are just better than methane burning buses for riders. Took a SM big blue gillig ebus & it was quiet & clean. Took a methane burner back & it was loud & funky smelling
Now don’t get me wrong - we need to keep using combustion buses until the end of useful life but ebuses are better.
“It’s smart for California to think about how they can [counteract] some of the reckless behavior of the federal government. But there’s also huge economic benefits from facilitating and advancing electric vehicles, including a lot of jobs in California.” - @lasmogguy.bsky.social

Yesterday, our team toured Bellwether Coffee in Berkeley to see firsthand how their innovative technology is transforming coffee roasting.
By replacing gas-powered equipment with all-electric roasters, Bellwether is slashing carbon emissions by up to 90% ☕

#NoOnSB34 - the filthy port pollution act of 2025
This is incredible news for clean air.
The main claim was this emissions rule covering equipment like boilers is preempted by EPCA.
Several organizations, including People’s Collective for Environmental Justice, Industrious Labs, and Sierra Club, intervened.
Court determined that rules are not preempted.
They may appeal, but for now, this massively important life-saving regulation has survived the effort to kill it.
Awesome work from a lot of great attorneys to fend off this legal attack.
Late yesterday, we received a massive clean air & climate win for Southern California. Industry challenged a massive life-saving rule - 1146.2 - adopted by the South Coast AQMD. You can read more about the rule that will result in major emission reductions here - earthjustice.org/press/2024/s...
🧵🪡 A thread on my attempt to thread the needle at a @calenergy.bsky.social meeting in a two-minute high-level public comment and taken out of context on (to be fair) a complex subject. ⬇️
“There is still work that can be done. These are big hits (from Trump) but I think still continuing to press on zero-emission vehicles is going to be really critical.” - @lasmogguy.bsky.social

Not concerned about that. Concerned about vague language and everything that will claim to be exempted.
The good news is the abundance crew and developers will definitely support efforts next session to strengthen California Clean Air Act and other CA environmental laws to clean up toxic facilities and other large polluting land uses …
If only we had a law that made decision makers look at their project in a rigorous way …
From the shaky rocks near the coast where developers decide to build their housing ….
Where’s it going flow ???
This comparsion in the NYTimes today is pretty stark. China is racing ahead to be a high-tech exporter of 21st century technologies, while the US is doubling down on being a petro-state exporting the technologies of the 19th century: www.nytimes.com/inte...
