SAG-AFTRA can't step in and fight for us.

We ARE the union.

If actors want a union Amazon Dubbing Agreement, we have to, at bare minimum, stop working for them non-union.

I think we need to change the way we talk about SAG-AFTRA. Not a dig at Jeff here (I too would like to see a SAG-AFTRA Amazon Agreement,) but we've got to stop referring to SAG-AFTRA as an organization that can just "step in" and do stuff.

A quoted tweet from a user named Sam that reads: "How Twitter is rigged Type in all caps because you're excited? Lowers your reputation. Include links? Your score goes down. And given Cisgender is treated as a slur & MAGA boosted, you can guess what's categorized as 'offensive'" The tweet they quoted is from user SADIQ and reads: "Tweepcred is X's reputation system Based on your behavior, you get a tweepcred score It determines your reach Break the algo rules, you score goes down and your reach disappears What are the rules of the X algo tho? Glad you asked." SADIQ includes a photo of Twitter's algorithm code that calculates a user's reputation. SADIQ continues: "Post 'offensive text'? 80% reach reduction Offensive username? 80% reach reduction All caps tweet? That's seen as 'shouting. Major penalization. Include links? Yup, penalized"

I'm begging any artists still using Twitter claiming it's integral to their work to just leave. It's been revealed the site works off a made up "credit score" from hell and punishes you for posting like a normal human being.

Abandon Twitter for good. It's time. It's been time.

For its primary author, part of what maintained motivation re: getting it through all bureaucratic channels was the belief that indie projects ARE the future—esp. for marginalized artists + stories.

Corporations that jump to employ us for the appearance of diversity can also be quick to discard us.

I've not spoken about this much—both because it feels self-aggrandizing and isn't super relevant beyond the folks directly involved—but:

The Game Jam Waiver (*the* most accessible way to make games Union) was created + is maintained by marginalized people. I feel like this is a major piece of why.

We seriously cannot be allowing companies to monopolise the industry, and then arbitrarily appoint themselves the moral arbiters.

A lot of nonsense over the years regarding video game censorship - but, here it is, actual full-blown censorship of art.

I'm individually in a tough dry spell and yet also experiencing

1) a bunch of pals absolutely ROCK IT in "Digimon" with really compelling vocal + performance choices 🥳
2) my favorite emo boy once again spike my site metrics + mildly break two apps.

I'm proud, grateful—and baffled by the dichotomy.
