I'm from a big city middle class background and we did have a live-in maid in the 90s who cooked and looked after the elderly. It was quite common around me. I think they got more expensive as time goes on, especially as you would need an extra room for them.

Given the kids of NESB migrants are more likely to outperform non-immigrants educationally, it means our APS is likely missing out on talented staff
